Well its the official starting week of College FB - lots of games starting Thursday night. Should be interesting with USC being a pre-season favorite, the SEC powers trying to maintain dominance and OU and others trying to stay near the top! :)

GAME picks

I love Mich St. giving the points to Boise St this weekend. MSU will be stout defensively and BSU is regrouping with new coaches and no Kellen Moore. Will play that game heavy.

Bama and Mich is interesting but think Bama has too much up front for Mich. Game is in Dallas!

Tonight the Ol Ball Coach opens versus Vandy - giving around a TD.

Enjoy the games!!:D

Buckeyes lost the best active head coach, a post season berth, scholarships and reputation. Things were looking grim until JoePa did us a favor and made everyone forget. Thanks Joe.

TRUE! THere were some off season disasters - Arkansas Petrino sex scandal; LSU suspension and others that all got lucky and rode in backseat thanks to PSU.

Totally agree that you lost a great coach.

I don't see USC winning the BCSNC. They have the best starting 18 but their D line is weak and they are very thin. They will need a lot of luck with injuries to contend, and I do not know how they are going to beat up tempo teams such as Oregon without being able to go two deep to rest the starters. I think it comes down to Bama and LSU from the SEC and Oregon for the championship. I like the way Bama matches up with Michigan and think they win by 17.

Roll Tide!

BAMA appears to have Mich outmanned up front. USC has a super easy schedule but they could stub their toe along the way if they get injuries (or Kiffen implodes)!

BOOMER SOONER! ha

Bama did well, but it was just one game. I worried, and still do, more about Arkansas than I did about Michigan because of match ups. I will say that if Arkansas gives up tht many points to Jacksonville, they wont be able to stop Bama. As for OK. I have a great amount of respect for the fans and the program, they are all class. That being said, I think your O line is going to be your down fall.

OU has some holes...even on defense. D-line is shaky, Mike Stoops or no MS.

BAMA looked awesome. Right to not get too overwhelmed by 1 but its been 15 years since a team like USC won that big and lost the #1 ranking. Impressive showing by the Tide.

Some interesting games this weekend for the "new" SEC teams - Missouri and A&M. They may get an education..haha

The only reason Bama jumped USC was the much better team that Bama played. But I'll tell you, it would not surprise me if TAM wins their game. Georgia on the other hand is going to depend on who is suspended and who isn't.

Maybe, but Aggies are going with a totally new coaching staff and they missed their first game last week so this is their first time out. I have been to aggie land and its a tough place to play. Ill still go with Georgia in a close one.

Pac 12 Vs BIG

PAC 12 has had some weak couple of years and BIG seems stronger but historically hasn't done well in road games against Pac 12. Which of the following games is most apt to result in a BIG loss:

1) Illinois @ Arizona State
2) Wisconsin @ Oregon State
3) Nebraska @ UCLA

BIG win by AZ over OSU!

Why are supposedly upright, good football programs in Division I FBS playing lower level FCS teams? And then complain that they don't want a playoff because it will affect the "student" athletes...fuck, it's a sham!!!!

Many games are a total joke - FSU and OSU playing Savannah State?? Seriously. Its all about the $$$ for the smaller schools and having a patsy for the big ones. DUMB system.

And to pad the records of the larger schools.

How about all three.

big deal, USC dealt with it. Urban Meyer will have them back beating Michigan in no time .....a year, maybe two, not a big deal
