Thought it would be a nice gesture... to change our signature lines... just as a tribute... a favorite memory, a quote from Colly, something from her writing... anything...

I can't think of anything poignant, but I have a little something for colly in my sig. I felt it only right to add something for her :D

I just knew there was a good reason why I keep so much stuff for "just in case".

I have an "old sigs" folder sitting in my documents, with text files of all the old sigs and quotes I've used in the past. I just knew there was one in there by Colly, and I found it! :)

She was one of the few people who always called me "Lou-Lou". Love her. :)

I had a brainwave, did some lit post searching and came up with some lovely colly stuff for my sig.

This is my first PC from Colly, too (sigline.)

I remember she had said something to me once in a PM and I asked her if I could use it in my sigline. It was the first time I had quoted anyone in my sig, and for the life of me, I don't remember precisely what she said, just that it was incredibly sweet and complimentary. It seems appropriate to quote her again. *sigh*

Now I wish I had save more of the PMs we exchanged. But she left me some wonderful PCs. Even though I and everyone eles tried to tell he what a wonderful storyteller she was, she never believed it. Even after she wiped the floor with me in the Readers Choice awards for MC.

Colly's comments to me when I returned to Lit and to writing after almost 9 months.

:rose:

I don't have any signature material, and haven't been posting here for a long time, but was just informed of this- so I wanted to add my sorrow, she was truly special

This remark in my sig will be permanent. It is the one thing that I will not delete under any circumstances.

I don't have anything to use. I never save my PMs, and I deeply regret not keeping hers now.

Look back for Colly's reply on a thread, perhaps.

Do a search for threads you've started or discussions you recall.

I used the sarch function, I looked up my user name and put in "colly" as the search term. You'll then find things you've said in reply to colly and from that posts she made directed to you. I did it this way as i have way too many posts to go through one by one!

My special thanks to the persons who PM'd me to tell me of the loss of Colleen. I am not able to be on line much for the time being and that Pm was the first I had heard.

A sad day indeed.

The Pm was from October, 2005...I miss her already.

amicus...

I have added a Colly comment on one of my earlier competition entries.

I think it is appropriately ironic if applied to the How To contest and Colly would have enjoyed the joke.

I tried to add a sig, and I can preview it in my control panel, and the "show your signature" box is checked, but it doesn't seem to show up.

Oh, nm.

The quote is sort of cumbersome out of context, but it just captures her combination of creativity and amazing scholarship. The Horsey Star System analogy was so out there, and so brilliant, that I was inspired - I went looking for planet AVs, and happened to find a short animation on a space website, then spent the whole afternoon turning it into an AV. Of course, now it's the Colly Star System. :D
