Collared Men: A Question

This is for purposes of versimilitude in a story, and is directed to any sub guys who wear collars:

Guys, can you give me some realistic details here? What kind of collar do you wear? Is it comfortable (or is discomfort the point?)--by that I mean, how is it given the Adam's Apple?

Do you wear it all the time, or only at home/at clubs/parties? Do you have a discreet one for public wear?

I ask because it's clearly easier for a woman to pass off just about any type of collar, decorative or otherwise, as a fashion statement, making it look good with whatever she's wearing. It's a bit harder for a guy to do so unless he's into a goth or punk look.

Many, many thanks for any observations or insights. I like to get these things right if I can.

I am not a dude with a collar, however I have a few.

The leather collar is at/home and out in pervland attire.

I pick my husband's necktie. Always. It's a little "thing." It used to be more meaningful as he had to wear one at one point, now it's hardly ever a point. But if/when it is...I pick.

I'm more likely to use panties/cock jewelry as a little discretionary "you're mine" reminder with a man.
