Closet Nudists...

This is my first thread, so please be gentle, lol.

I guess I'm a closet nudist. I'm almost always naked when I'm home alone, which isn't as much as I'd like to be, lol. I have a lot of friends (girls and guys) and usually someone (or or two or three) are here every day/night. We have fun chats, have drinks and generally have a good time until it gets late and everyone goes home. Secretly, I'm wishing everyone would just go home so I can get naked! Lol... I've thought many times about just spitting it out, "Let's all get naked!" But I haven't been able to. There have been other times when conversations have somehow turned to a point where I, or someone else, has casually mentioned liking to be naked when alone. So, that should make it easy, right? Well, it hasn't for me. I'm just chicken I guess, lol. Some of my group of friends are very attractive, and yes, I've fantasized about being with some of them, girls and guys, and the way some of them like to flirt, maybe they've thought of me too that way, but we've all been friends for a really long time, and some of them are bf/gf, so I don't know how that would really work out. Besides, I also have a fear that if I somehow made my apartment a "no clothes" zone, then things could get out of control and my apartment becoming known as an orgy house! I've heard "true" nudists aren't always thinking about sex when they're naked around their friends, but I don't know how you can't, lol. I'm always thinking about it even when I'm just naked and alone!

I'd love to hear thoughts, tips, and advice of others about whether or not I should, what would be the best way, experiences, should there be rules, etc, etc.

Yes, true nudist do not think about sex all the time when they're naked. If you spend a lot time naked with friends or in dedicated places, believe me you will not be thinking about it every second. At some point it starts to be just casual conversation, spending good time and etc.

As a life-long nudist I can say that the "hesitations" are valid but they are also easily overcome. I was lucky to have liberal parents and, as noted here over the years, ran around naked as a kid. But growing up, it wasn't something you "shared" with others. And even as adults, when I was married and hemet other nudist couples outside of a club or a beach, there were nerves the first time getting naked together. But as someone said above, once done, it's just natural and constant thoughts of sex just aren't there. How can they be when you're thinking about what's cooking, or getting everyone another drink, etc.?
I'm a member and was a public speaker for the AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation) and not only do they have members and clubs in every state, you'd be surprised by the number of nudists looking to get together, especially in the winter for pot lucks, pool parties and other social get togethers...even in NYC where I used to live. I'd suggest joining an AANR club and joining in on an area meet-up.
And then there's the old witticism about the wife refusing to go to a nudist club saying, "What if there's someone there that I know?" The answer, of course, they're there for the same reason! So no one's going to look at you any differently. And yes, people have been known to see their pastors or doctors or former teachers at a beach or club. It's just natural.
Whether you stay in the closet or venture into the light, I just hope you enjoy your nudist experiences in whatever form you like.

I agree you need to proceed with caution. This can easily take on a lie of its own and once the genie is out of the bottle you can't put it back.

I would wait for an appropriate moment and discuss it with your most trusted female friend who has shown any sort of interest or fascination with nudism. Just tell her how you feel and how you enjoy being naked when nobody is around. She won't think you're weird. It can just be a casual conversation along the lines of what kinds of music you like. If she is receptive you could suggest being naked, or at least semi nude just with her. See how it goes and how you feel about being with another nudist and take it from there with others if it works for you.

Yes, I completely understand your point. I also just can't help thinking that at least in the beginning, there will be a lot of sexual excitement in the air, lol, and I wonder how long that will last. If I saw someone I know at a nude club or resort, I'm sure I will be totally embarrassed at first but you're right, they're there for the same reason which would definitely be something to smile and laugh about

You'll do fine, and of course you don't need to opt for total nudity at first if its not comfortable. Stripping down to bra and panties or bathing suits or just going topless at first are all options when starting out. It will only take one or two encounters before it feels totally natural and comfortable.

That's kind like creeping into a pool because the water is cold. I'm the kinda girl that likes to jump in! haha

With your close girlfriend, tell her that you have been intrigued by nudism and would like to go to a nearby resort but that you're too nervous about going alone. Or go on vacation in a city that has a nude beach nearby. There, there's anonymity and she might be willing to try it with you. You could even do this with a platonic guy friend. Tell him you need him there so you won't get hit on. I'm sure he'd go.

After the experience, go on and on about how much fun it was and how comfortable you were. When you're at your apartment, come to the door with your robe on and nothing underneath. See what she says.

I would have done it earlier, not wait until the ex left us. LOL

I started with wearing oversized t-shirts - I'm a men's small or medium, but wore 3XL at first, then 2XL. Then I moved onto wearing see thru lingerie.

Elaine you definitely are not alone. I love.being naked in my house. Anytime I am alone the clothes come off. And with a teenage son with friends over that isn't nearly enough. I have gone naked with a friend over but only because she was here to play. I long for the day I can be free in my own house....just like you

I have daughters who are out of the house, but I know all about being caught. Sometimes they would bring boys over without warning...

I have gone naked with a friend over but only because she was here to play. I long for the day I can be free in my own house....just like you

I'm glad I don't have to worry about kids right now so I definitely want to take advantage of that...and also start at a young age. But I'm also planning to wear something subtly revealing tonight and also hinting around to one of my girlfriends (and maybe a guy friend too) to see what they think.
