Closet Desire

Shoot. Here I thought I'd be reading about someone coming out of the closet. We need a little more soap opera on the board, don't ya think? ;)

Hee hee.

If only I had a soap opera to share. Life has been dull, dull, dull.

Those of Mallorca...

...would execute you for suggesting they are in Spain! Hah!

It was lovely, great, romantic, gorgeous and so on ad nauseum! The twelve days of Christmas was still in full swing with the Procession of the three magi taking place in Palma, near the Cathedral (circa 1300), on 5 January. This is when gifts are exchanged rather than Christmas day. No sign of Santa I'm afraid. Instead, gifts are symbolic of those brought by the three, Arab magicians who read the stars and prophesied the birth of a powerful Arab prince. Sort of a different spin don't you think.

Palma is magnificent. Fought off pirates, Arabs, Moors, fell to the Christians in 1300. Also visited Valledemossa, a remote village in the interior, whose only real claim to fame was the illicit love affair that Frederick Chopin and George Sands (female French writer...real name...Baroness Aurore de Dudevant) carried on there one winter in the chambers. It inspired me to write an erotic story about the Mystery of Valldemossa. Anyway, the monks were kicked out in 1836 by the Spanish Crown and sold off to private interests. Dispossession I think it was called.

Hoping that something came out of the closet huh? Interesting how this expression has come to mean that someone has publically expressed that they are gay or lesbian. We chose it to mean the expression of any erotic fantasy or desire that any lover or lovers may have. Of course, as Naudiz knows, we gather these stories up and publish them in a book series called "Closet Desire". Great fun...admitting that we like sex. Hell, we can't even shock our kids anymore!

It's great to be back!

Ha ha! They'd have to find me first!

It sounds like a magnificent place. Isn't it great how certain places can light a creative spark? I've definitely got the travel bug these days. I can barely write a shopping list for lack of inspiration, and a change of scene would be just the thing. Thank goodness for the Bay Area. Although, last I checked, my tickets were lost somewhere between San Jose and Portland, so I may not be flying out tomorrow after all. I will be ever so put out if they don't arrive in time. Which, in Naudiz-speak, translates roughly to 'someone is going to be hurting over this'. I prefer e-tickets. E-tickets are faboo. When booking my own trips, I go with e-tix. Hey, that sounds like a jingle.

On a lighter note, the time constraints that were cutting my trip so short have lifted, so whenever I do get down there, I'll be in no particular hurry to get back. If you don't hear from me for awhile, odds are I'm having a great time. :)

I *wish* I had something to come out of the closet about. Losing tickets in the mail is the most exciting thing that's happened to me in a long time. When you get giddy over getting Sea Monkeys, it's time to admit you've got a problem. Hi, I'm Naudiz, and I've been secretly living a boring lifestyle. It started innocently enough. A little channel-flipping here and there. Then I started zoning out to do it yourself shows on PBS, and now I'm having deep, meaningful conversations with the cats. Sure, I've tried to hide it. It's something that just isn't talked about in polite circles, you know. Enough of that, it's time to come clean and be who I am: bored senseless.

The sad thing is, it *does* feel better to just get it out.

I reeeeeeeally need this vacation. :)

Good to have you back, CD.
