  • Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar caused an uproar on Saturday night, after he commented on the return of nine-year-old Emily Hand, a dual resident of Ireland and Israel, who was among the 13 people freed from Hamas captivity.
  • “This is a day of enormous joy and relief for Emily Hand and her family. An innocent child who was lost has now been found and returned, and we breathe a massive sigh of relief. Our prayers have been answered,” Varadkar wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
  • However, no mention was made of the fact that Hand was held by Hamas terrorists for 50 days, or of the attack they perpetrated in Israel on October 7 when they abducted Hand and more than 200 other people. Varadkar’s post was reposted and criticized many times.

a couple of facts not to lose sight of in all of this:

  • not all of the hostages taken from Israel are counted in this 4-day deal—only 50—though an extra day 'pause' per additional 10 hostages produced by hamas is part of the deal.
  • Israel currently plans on releasing 150 Palestinian hostages for these 50; they hold approximately 8,000, of which 3,000 are being held without charges. Many of the Palestinian hostages are kids or youngsters taken for throwing stones at Israeli troops.

What the Israelis are holding is hundreds of killer Hamas terrorists and their supporters. The Israelis will have to give many more than they receive. This is a Hamas tactic that helps them to regroup, rearm, and resupply. Joe Biden is going to force them to do this over and over again and it will result in a strategic defeat for Israel. 70% of Palestinians support the terror war against Israel and thus it will continue until one or the other is gobe.

From what I've read, they are holding many who may have just thrown rocks at soldiers. Not necessarily killers or supporters of Hamas. And many of those who have been caught up in the fighting are the first to be released as part of the prisoner swap.

According to Al Ansari, the prisoners set to be released by Israel in the second phase of the transfer would “include 33 children and 6 women, while those released from Gaza will include 8 children and 5 women, in addition to 7 foreigners.” Al Ansari later updated to say only 4 foreigners would be released.
