Dumb and false comparison.
Not at all. I believe Norman Finkelstein compared the events of October 7 to a slave rebellion. Imagine how the Confederacy responded to slave rebellions, and how Israel responds. One never gives in to demands from such oppressors, but actually has a duty to fight them all the more.

The Confederacy lost the civil war.

Additionally both the union and Confederacy held slaves.

Would you have accepted demands from the Confederacy?
Why is it, when people here fail to author an authentic post, and then are trying to defend said post, feel the need to turn to false comparisons or to whataboutism?

Care to explain Becky?

The Confederacy lost the civil war.
They did. But unlike nearly every other civil war in history, the Confederacy did not lose BIG. Normally, the Confederates would have been forced into accepting a very harsh Reconstruction of civil rights and suffrage for the freed slaves. Instead, the Republicans of 1877 decided to do a deal with Southern Democrats to end Reconstruction in return for getting electoral college votes that would put Republican Rutherford B. Hayes into the White House. And this was after Abraham Lincoln had put a Southern Democrat as his running mate in the 1864 election, when a Radical Republican had previously been his vice president.

See where appeasing the reactionary side leads? Defeat, in the long run. A lot of the issues in American society today, especially race related, can be traced back to the civil war's aftermath and the end of Reconstruction.

Additionally both the union and Confederacy held slaves.
The Union represented industrial capitalism in the civil war. The Confederacy represented chattel slavery. The two systems were clashing to the extent of secession and open civil war by 1860-1861.

In my experience, anyone who complains about somebody else engaging in "whataboutism" is trying to hide their hypocrisy from being exposed.

Yes, difficult issues take time to work out and you have no patience.

The Union represented industrial capitalism in the civil war. The Confederacy represented chattel slavery. The two systems were clashing to the extent of secession and open civil war by 1860-1861.
The civil war was about slavery. The Union, who wanted to end it, won.

Yet then came Jim Crow laws after 1877, and nearly 90 years of it. This is very atypical of most civil wars. The only other one that comes close is the English Restoration of the monarchy in 1660, 11 years after Charles I's execution. Usually, the losing side in a civil war loses in a very big way.

Yes, the war didn't end slavery.

Got any proof of this? Besides your own bias?

Michael Higgins: New poll shows Palestinians are the impediment to peace — not Israel's war

Only five per cent of Palestinians support a two-state solution; three-quarters want Israel wiped off the map...

A Nov. 14 survey by a West Bank polling firm asked Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank what kind of state they wanted to establish: one state for two peoples garnered the support of 5.4 per cent of respondents; a two-state solution was supported by 17.2 per cent; but the clear-winner, with 74.7 per cent in favour, was a “Palestinian state from the river to the sea.”

Nov 14th, well I'd be fucking against Israel too, if they were indiscriminately bombing me, killing my family indiscriminately. You gona claim you wouldn't feel the same if it was happening to you???

Try from before, like maybe 2017 and see what the fuck they thought. Or just fuck of and die, which is my preferred thoughts, one less piece of shit walking the face of this planet.

Your tweet author fails to acknowledge that the current conflict has not been going on even two months yet.

It's not "jew hate", it's math.

Please point out any hypocrisy on my part. I've already highlighted yours, and so by your own definition you agree you're a hypocrite.

Let's put this in perspective, shall we?

Current civilian death toll on Gaza, 11,200. So about 5500 per month.

Afghanistan -20 years, 240 months
Gaza would be at 1,320,000 deaths.

Darfur - 16 yrs, 11 months
Gaza would be at 1,116,000 deaths

Iraq -8 year,8 months
Gaza would be at 572, 000 deaths

Ukraine - 21 months (unclear if the numbers include 2014)
Gaza would be at 115,500 deaths

And also not clear on what time period Congo is referring to.
