Biden is reportedly overjoyed about the release of two American hostages.

Upon hearing this news, Deplorables now wish the hostages had been killed instead. :(
Them damn deplorables, who are those people anyway?

... and yet they still have ample leisure time to post at Lit with a 20-20 hindsight that is so keen as to stir the red-hot coal of jealousy and the cool, iceberg-like pangs of resentful admiration.

The self-owned legends of the mind and gadflies of the board who flit from topic to topic searching for specific posters who must be rebutted even as they are dismissed as idiots.
Who the fuck needs to rebut an idiot unless they are a jealous, admiring idiot themselves?
LOL, damn AJ, you need to give a warning when make a post like this. I laughed so hard at your hypocrisy I nearly spilled my coffee....

oh look, Ishmael had to really twist himself into a pretzel to turn record production into something bad.

He's upset that President Joe Biden won and won't grant oil leases on public lands in return for campaign contributions like his predecessor did.

What he doesn't mention is that the oil company still have thousands of idle leases on oil wells where they have chosen not to bring back into production until certain price points are hit. These public land leases he is squealing about would take years to bring online after being bought, he seems to believe you can buy a lease on Friday and have a functioning oil well the following week.
If Biden didn’t put a wet blanket on the oil industry when he took office we’d be three years ahead in the game. Oil companies would be more conducive to reinvest in refineries that suffered during Covid. Refining capacity is lacking.

No company is going to invest in building new refining capacity; invest tens of billions of dollars, and then not be able to amortise that investment. Oil is a finite product, But you want Biden to subsidise this, so you can have cheap gas.

I’m watching the news and I hear this phrase repeated mindlessly in various forms, They have/need to follow the “Rules of War.”

There are no rules of war. Even civil war is never “civil” war. There is only what you do and what happens to you when you lose.

“Just win baby!”

I enjoy being lectured to by the people who know Big Oil so well that they turned themselves into self-made millionaires (I learn so much.)...

That's a truth RG. Production is up, that's the good news. The bad news is that in many cases the administration is restricting even more production and the fact that we're exporting to try to pick up the slack due to the Russian sanctions isn't picking up the slack.

What oil the Russians are producing is going to start diminishing as winter sets in. They don't have sufficient technical expertise to keep the wells in production and once those wells go off line it will take 10 yrs +/- to bring them back. Those wells were kept in production by various Western contractors who are now all gone. This will cause the Chinese to import even more from other sources which in turn will put even more pressure on the market.
No, bringing a well back into production after it's been shut in does not take 10 years +, the Russians are very capable of maintaining their oil fields. Who do think invented directional drilling?
That pus bucket gov Polis in his infinite wisdom has nearly brought all of the oil field industry in the state of colorade to a crawl/standstill unemploying thousands...... the pus bucket is also trying to destroy the tabor act..... (some people's children)....

LOL Directional drilling started in early 1910's. Called Gyroscopic drilling, btw. The "father of it" is often credited to H. John Eastman. That's a very Russian name, now isn't it Buffy?

There are rules of war.
He's quoting the poster on the wall at Good Ole Sensei K's Togo Dojo. "Always kick man when he down".

AJ's lack of adherence to the Geneva Accords may have had a hand in his abbreviated unremarkable stint in the USMC back in teh 70s.

It does if your well is in the perma-frost like the Siberian fields. Once those casings are compromised it's 'start all over' time again.

I thought your construction company only built gulags for the Ruskies....are you now claiming you built their oil rigs too?

Yah, you may want to check your notes again.

Producing more is not the same as producing at full capacity which is what we need. We’re not refilling the SPR.
That's the key. Biden and his insufferables have done all they can to shut off the full supply of oil. If production is up right now it's to save his ass from the American people who are paying record gas prices. Gas prices are falling due to seasonal demand (vacation is over) but are still abnormally high due to Joe's war on the domestic oil industry.

Oil companies decide to produce more and they are doing so more than any time in history.

Full capacity isn't happening because oil companies have decided not to do so. They have plenty of land to do so on.

And let's be clear, the oil companies aren't doing anything to save Biden from anything.

“Biden’s Burdensome Regulations are Shutting Down American Refineries”

“Cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline was only the first of many attacks from this administration on American energy production. Since then, President Biden’s anti-American energy actions have included:

  • Suspending oil and gas leasing on federal lands
  • Delaying permits for energy infrastructure and pipelines
  • Draining our strategic petroleum reserves, compromising both our energy and national security
  • Begging foreign regimes like Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Venezuela for more oil
  • Emboldening Putin with Nord Stream II
President Biden’s commitment to “no more drilling”—stated as recently as this month at a political event—and his administration’s growing list of burdensome executive proposals have caused U.S. refining capacity to decrease two years in a row.”

Refineries are at a premium, there is no fall back position. We are one major catastrophe away from disaster. The White House’s responsibility is to plan for possible unforeseen problems. Drawing down the SPR with no plan to replenish it is typical Obama/Biden MO. They left the cupboards bare pre Covid and now oil reserves are dangerously low with two ongoing major crises. We’re not in better shape now than 2022. Now we have the, by far, the dumbest republican crapshoot I’ve ever seen in my time on this green earth.

Everything I predicted 2 years ago is on our doorstep.

Yah, 20 trucks were allowed in (out of 200)

Baby steps I guess. Such a crap situation.

As much as Palestinian supporters are harping at Israel, they truly need to rebel against Hamas, who initiated this mess. They deserve to be hung in a public square.

You are correct, only 20 of 200. I was working off the "Breaking News" ticker which claimed 200, but the NY Times and Al Jezeera both said "20 of 200".

Israel is preventing any fuel supplies to cross the border and Gaza water pumping stations are all inoperative as they have no fuel. This, in my opinion, is a crime against humanity, depriving civilians of water on the off-chance that Hamas fighter might get some.

Refineries aren't threatened by drilling regulations. The oil lobby is working on you.

They are producing more oil than ever in history.

Stop sucking the oil exec cock

Keystone XL didn't affect anything....thats a bold faced lie.

This is what you need to look at

Exxon CEO's pay rose 52% in 2022, highest among oil peers

No oil company is in danger of not having land to dig on....zero. They have a ton of land available to them. They rely on you useful idiots to lobby for them....all while being subsidized out the ass by our government
