I'm wanting to get a virtical hood done, but the only thing thats stopping me is the embaressment. lol as stupid as that sounds.
I can barely tolerate going and having a pap done because its a complete stranger.
whats a good way to get over the embaressment? where i live, if your drunk or high, they wont do the peircing and/or tattoo. so those are out of the question.
any ideas?

See I guess it all boils down to what causes you to feel embarrassed. Ultimately those who work day in, day out with other peoples genitals simply see a task to be done (they see something else when they get to play with them in their own free time ) Perhaps it is about having support with you, perhaps it is about acting yourself ok with it, perhaps it is about acknowledging who you are...

Personally am rather glad that rules ban alcohol and substance use prior to procedures, but then I am all about the regret!

I never had a hood piercing, but I do get waxed and the knowledge that she does this for a living and she's seen everything tremendously helps with any potential embarrassment. She's a pro and the first thing she always does is make sure I'm completely relaxed. Just chatting with her eases me. The same may help you.

Also, know that alcohol and drugs thins the blood and will slow the healing: it's one of the reasons, along with the impairment of judgement, that tattoo artists and piercers will refuse to work on drinking/drug imbibing persons, whether mandated by law or not.

as it's been said the piercer as definetly done it before so you are just another one on the list . Don't be embarrassed , seriously how many nipples has he or she done ?? How many genital percings has he done?? probably quite a few. so don't be embarrassed , youre the only one who's new at this he or she's been there done that lol.

maybe you could ask to see pictures of the similar piercings he/she's done. so that you see that you arent the first one and maybe talking to your piercer and tell him/her how you feel, I am sure they would be able to make you feel more at ease. I know my piercer would probably make me feel at ease with sticking a needle through my eye lol....he is extremely professionnal and I always feel safe with him....

I've spoken to a few tattooists/peircers about it.
already have kind of weeded out a few of the bad ones by viewing pics of their work.




Now...it all boils down to working up the courage of having a needle in my crotch. lol

Like others have suggested, just chat. My piercer ladies are wonderful. You may want to check out bmezine.com (body modification e-zine) and read some stories. They are of course only one person's account, but it can give you a good idea of what to expect from a good experience and what to watch out for to avoid a bad one. You can also sort the stories by location and may be able to find someone in your area that somebody else had a positive experience with. Make sure you trust your piercer 100% before you go for it. After that, have fun! I've had mine nearly three years now, it's a great little piercing. Good luck!

I would suggest you just talk to whom ever is going to do the piercing and get comfy with his attitude and mannerisims. If you cant, then keep looking untill you find the right one. Hope this helps you some.

Take a friend with you? One you're comfortable being naked with...

You two can help each other drop your drawers together. She could even get on the table and spread her legs, and then help you take her place so the piercer can to go work.

Another tactic might be to focus on why you're getting the piercing.
Getting my nipple pierced was about having fun with sex. If I ever got my cock perced it would definitely be about having fun with sex.
Assuming that getting your clit pierced is about having fun with sex (and I can't think of many other reasons why you'd do it) try and focus on the outcome and the fun you're going to have witt it.
If you've got a partner, would you feel more comfortable if he/she were with you?
