Before anyone tears into me, I voted for Clinton.

Clinton made the statement the other day that his worst day as President was the day he had to admit to Hillary that he did have the affair with Lewinsky.

The more I think about this statement, the more it bugs me. The Murrah building was blown up and 168 people died. Soldiers bodies dragged through the streets of Mogadishu. People dead in the WTC bombing of 93. Yet his worst day was having to admit to a mistake that he had made and been lying about?

Does this seem a little selfish to anyone else or am I looking to deep into this?

Clintons worst day.

Personally, I think you are being remarkably insensitive.

Clinton wasn’t asked what was his worst day as president, or the worst day for America. They asked him what was HIS worst day.

Having to confess to his wife that he had betrayed her, and that he would have to admit that in a VERY public venue — remember the vast right-wing conspiracy — would seem to me to be a sufficiently appalling experience.

No doubt he did not relish the other events that you mention, but those were public events, not his personal life.

Why are you disappointed? Does Clinton not deserve a right to his own emotions? Would you rather that he had told an obvious falsehood, like claiming God told him to stain Monica’s dress?

I'm disappointed for the reasons that I already listed. He was caught up in a personal mess of his own making. He messed up by having the affair, then by lying about it. Both were his choices. I like the guy, but I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for anyone over self inflicted wounds.

Cinton was asked what was his worst day as President. He's the one that made the statement "my worst day in office". To me that means in his role as President. In his role as President, I think his admission of an affair pales in comparison to Oklahoma City.

I still admit that I may be looking too deep into this. However, I can't shake the feeling that this was a selfish thing for him to say.
