So, my buddy moves away and I get a new-used futon for my place. Works great, but with one problem - the first time my girlfriend and I sit on it to watch a movie, we end up having sex and, well, she squirts all over me (which is great!) The problem is we left to take care of something and forgot to clean it up. Now my futon kinda smells funny. I just tried OUT! brand pet stain remover at her suggestion, but she never had a g-spot orgasm before me.

I'm sure someone here has had some experience with this problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Pet smell remover is pretty much the best thing you can get for removing smells from a mattress. If it didn't work, maybe try applying it again, or try a different brand? Or I guess you could burn some incense in the room or a scented candle or otherwise cover up the smell.

I agree with sunandshadow; the enzymatic cleaners may be your best bet for a quick and cheap solution. There's one called Nature's Miracle that works really well. There's also at least one NM knock-off that I've found just as effective, though I don't know the name (the bottles look very similar to NM and it has the same ingredients for about 1/2 to 2/3 of the price, though). I've tried the OUT! stuff, too, and it seems OK for pet smells, but I think the NM-like solution works better in general and it doesn't have the scent that the OUT! does so you'll actually know if it's really worked.

You could also try a steam or upholstery cleaner, which is probably a good idea anyway, since it was used in the first place.

Another option would be to get a new cushion. They're not expensive, and again, it might be wise since you don't know what else was on and in the mattress when you inherited it.

For the future, definitely lay down some towels or get one of those waterproof throws made for sex, pets or picnicking (though they can be pricey) just in case. An ounce of prevention, and all.

Other general cleaning options: a diluted vinegar solution or a VERY diluted bleach solution. Watch the second one for colors, obviously.

I trust where it came from. I know the guy I got the futon from, he had it for 4 months before he got a job and I'm the total of the people who stayed on it. It was cheaper for him than a couch and all... so; you know - but getting a new one across the country was a lot cheaper than renting a truck for all his stuff. As far as color, I've got a top sheet for it.

We were in a position that was just right for some reason. I did have a towel under me, but that just got soaked through as well... *shrug*

I wonder what hotels use? Hotel mattresses are subject to being stained by all sorts of bodily fluids such as sweat, blood, vomit, pee-pee, poo-poo, semen, tears, and saliva.

Hospitals use washable pads placed on top of the sheet and they soak up an incredible amount of fluid. The come in different sizes and can be purchased at stores such as Walgreens.
