Does anybody know how to clean microfiber couches?

I have an autistic son, I took the cushions off and found a present of jelly and coffee creamer caked on the sides...

Any ideas?

Click me The first link has hundreds of solutions, and there are several for cleaning microfiber on the specific page it takes you to.

Google 'cleaning microfiber furniture' Also tons of info.

This may be helpful in determining the cleaning code and how to proceed.

You might have some luck asking here.

Personally, I'd call the store and/or manufacturer to ask what they suggest in addition to doing the research. If all else failed, I'd try to order a replacement cushion or buy a nice, washable slipcover.

Alright. I knew I should of bought a pleather couch.

Ususally you get a 5 year warranty with those things, so you might be able to call the company and get it professionally cleaned/recovered. Having just bought one of those couches (It will be delivered after the holidays- yay!), I know they sell cleanser specifically for microfiber couches at the furniture store.

Good luck!

if its like teh ashly durapella set, you shoujld be able to just get as much of the dried on stuff off as possible,
and then use water and a mild detergetn... should work just fine...

I'm not sure if that brand has some kind of coating like Scotchguard, but just about everything I found cautioned people to use distilled water because the minerals in other water can cause stains or permanent marks.

wierd.. i was working @ a furniture store, when that came out, and the training we recieved, said justuse mild soap and water.. even took off marker off the couch... {i saw it with my very own eyes}

probly depends on the manufacturer

The only problem is that even a professional cleaner can't get everything out... I was a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner for about three years and you'd be amazed at the condition that people would let their carpet or upholstery get into before they'd call us... And then, they'd expect us to make it look like brand new.

Joaquin1975: The creamer will come out no problem but, as for the jelly, it all depends on the color... The dye used in it may have permanately dyed your couch.

I would suggest a professional cleaning company but, if you're going to do it yourself, make sure that you get the ENTIRE cushion damp... NOT just the spot where the stain is... If you just try cleaning the spot where the stain is, you'll create a water mark on your cushion... And those NEVER come out.

And this is why we'll keep our crappy furniture until our youngest is old enough to not tear it up. That'll be when she hits puberty, right? :)
