"Unless I manage t'make Fiona 'r her grandparents mad, probably no'," Sam answered with a smile of his own, taking her shovel and beginning to scrape away the grime for her.

"I'll keep it for you just in case." Stacia said with a smile as he took the shovel and started to scrape away the grime without her asking. "My parents want to meet Fiona. They are cooking a big meal for tomorrow evening. They expect you both to be there."

"Your parents?" Sam asked, glancing up at her with a smile. "What, d'they want t'make sure weak little Sam's got a good woman t'take care of 'im? Because tha' was what they always bothered me about before."

"They've heard from the council that you would move the Earth for Fiona and they want to see who this little enchantress is." Stacia said with a smile. "They never thought that they would see the day that Samuel Ghis found the woman that would bring him to his knees."

"She 'asn't brought me to my knees, love. Rather, she's made me stronger on my own two feet," Sam insisted, finishing with the walkway quickly and giving Stacia back the shovel. "Fiona an' I realized right away tha' we were still gonna be independent people, but we'd support each other no matter what an' we'd never 'ave regrets. An' I like it tha' way. We're both stubborn people tha' 'ave plans an' dreams an' we won' step in th'other's way. Tha's why we work well."

"Just marry her already, Sam." Stacia said as she leaned against the shovel and stared at him as he described is relationship with Fiona in such strong terms. "She's a lovely girl and you smile when you talk about her. I've never seen you do that with anyone else."

"One day," Sam nodded. "But there are some things I need t'get in order before then. I've talked to 'er about it... An' you know I never liked th'idea o' marriage myself, but... I don' feel so worried about it with her."

"It's frightening." Stacia admitted, glancing towards the window of the tavern where she could see Tavir working hard behind the bar. "But when you find that one person that you can't imagine your life without, it makes everything so worth it. Things were hard for Vir and I at first, but I love our little life together. We've been talking about children, but I think we simply enjoy spending time together right now."

"He'd be a fantastic father," Sam nodded slightly, glancing toward the window as well. "He's got th'patience of a saint if 'e can deal with you." With a chuckle, Sam kissed her cheek and hugged her close. "Alright, put me t'work. I'm bored an' I owe ya."

"You might regret those words." Stacia said as she hugged Sam tightly and then pulled him inside of the tavern, putting him to work on repairing some of the floorboards next to the fireplace that had grown worn over the winter time.

Sam had always been a hard worker who'd grown up learning how to do just about anything with his hands. While he was every bit the thinker that his siblings could be, Sam's forte lay in hands-on things. It was perhaps why he was so adept at training his men, because he wasn't afraid to put on the practice armor with them and take wooden blades and let them attack him and learn from getting hit back.

Tavir leaned on the bar as Stacia set Sam to work, giving her a kiss when she came by him. "We should keep him," Tavir said with a grin. "He's been useful around town."

"His life isn't here." Stacia answered simply, glancing towards Sam as he worked on ripping up the old floorboards. "I dare say that we are looking at the future king, Vir. He simply doesn't know it yet."

"I thought Rhodan was going to take the throne," Tavir murmured, looking to Stacia with a raised brow. "Brogan's been training him ever since Kate was chosen as King Gale's successor."

"There is no one out there that knows more about the inner workings of Inverness than Samuel. Even Rho knows that. When the time comes, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with the crown." Stacia said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Just a feeling."

"I wonder how that'd effect Fiona," Tavir thought aloud, looking back to Sam for a moment. "A crown weighs heavily on any relationship. Not that I don't think they can make it, but... I can't help but feel it'd be hard for them."

"I don't know. They might never marry. However, they care for one another deeply and that is what they need. A nice, strong foundation to build upon." Stacia wrapped her arm around Tavir's waist and gave her mate a smile. "Just like we have. I've been thinking more about what we talked about with children. Maybe I'm more ready than I thought."

Tavir's expression softened as Stacia drew close and he met her with a warm kiss. "I'm ready whenever you are, love. It'll be another adventure."

"We don't see many travelers this way anymore. Maybe we can keep a room or two to rent out and expand our personal rooms." Stacia said as Tavir's gaze softened as he looked down at her. "We can make it work."

"I'd like that. Maybe we could get a helper or two as well, make things a little easier on us so we have spare time," Tavir suggested softly. "Sam's told me about how his sister's mother-in-law and her mate run their place back in Inverness... It sounds like a good idea, to take on friends we trust. There are plenty of good people who could use a job."

"So...we're serious about this? We really want to become parents?" Stacia asked, both excited and terrified at the idea of becoming a mother.

"The only one who can decide if you're ready is you," Tavir told her. "I know I'm serious about it." He seemed to take it in stride, as he took most things. His aura of calm had been nearly unshakable since Stacia had met him.

Stacia answered that comment by nuzzling against him, her arms holding her mate tighter as they each thought about the future. She wanted kits of her own and she knew that deep in her heart. It would be a new adventure, one that they would enter into together.

Tavir's arms settled about Stacia's waist and he kissed her adoringly before tucking his head against her shoulder as he often did. "I love you," he muttered. "And I'm excited. I'm always excited for a new adventure with you."

Stacia smiled as Tavir pressed his head against her shoulder, telling her that he enjoyed the different adventures that they found themselves getting into.

"Get back to work, Vir. We have a lot of things to be done this spring." Stacia murmured after a while, pulling herself away from him. "I'm going to go clean out the kitchen. It needs a good scrubbing."

"Yes, ma'am," Tavir nodded as she stepped away, watching her go with a smitten grin.

By the time Fiona got up, she would find Rhett and Anya in the kitchen, Anya sitting at the table and Rhett leaning out the open window as Orla told them both of some recent news.
