Do you live in the city or countryside? I was raised in a small farming town and live in one now.
I'll never understand anyone that wants to live in the city.

I was raised in a tiny town in Mississippi, but now I live in Memphis Tennessee. It's the perfect sized city for me. Full of culture and other fun amenities but it still has plenty of green space.

I love the country, but it is nice to have options after 8pm or a Sunday afternoon!

Live in the forest, so to say, most of time now. Work mostly in the big city (by modest local scale), the for money type work. It's becoming the new normal for the area, virtually no agriculture anymore, but increasing number of scattered settlements, so is it country anymore, it's disputable, but not quite a suburb yet either.

I live in a suburb also. Most of the farms are gone, still a few around, but not like it was.
I made most of my money in the city but spend HOURS in traffic driving home.

grew up on the outermost edges of suburbia in my area, so 180degrees was housing, no high rises, the other 180 degrees fields and woodland on gently undulating slopes. worked in a busy town the sort of size seems to be called cities over here where i am now, but it was always a pleasure to return to the green spaces

after getting married, moved deeper into london and worked city-central, then moved back out a bit to suburban sprawl, industrial and concrete everywhere.

now, i'm in another country, another continent, all rural though only about 7 miles from the shops. hillside, woodland, pastures. i feel home.

(1)Two blocks out of a small city, surrounded by a university campus, and on the side of a ridge. (2) Key West, four block from the Truman Annex. (3) Northern Cyprus, on the mountain road between Kyrenia and Bellapais, overlooking the Mediterranean.

Spent 20 years in rural North Mississippi, but for the last 10 I’ve lived in Memphis, TN.

Northern lower peninsula of Michigan, 12 miles outside of a town of around 900 people.

Born and raised in Miami, FL, still have a place there for when the snow gets too deep.

Farm livin is the life for me...

A little too built up for me, but still pretty and rural.

Country-ish now

I now live in a farming community but we're a mere 10 miles south of a big city. They have the fun stuff, the carnivals the college and high school sports (pro teams are just 45 minutes away), and any excuse to throw a parade.

I love the mix. I'm a good distance from the noise but we can go enjoy it any time we want.

When I was young and wild, the city was where it was at. Now, I reside in the backwoods and love it. I love seeing wildlife in the front yard. Of course, I used to love seeing the wild life in the city too.

Unless Ted Nugent is in town. He played in Kansas City and noise complaints came from many miles away.

I live in the country, but very close to a large metro area. Sorta the best of both worlds.

I live in a suburb of one of the largest cities in the US. Our sprawling subdivision is surrounded by farmland, so it doesn’t feel as “city” as it could.

I live in a small town of 2000 in the middle of farm country. Watch for deer because farmers are picking the corn and soybeans now. Also, you might have to share the road with some farm equipment.:rose:

I live a short but pleasant drive outside of a small city in northern MN called Duluth.

I got 95% of city convenience, pretty much everything except super stadium shows, big timer museum exhibits and an international airport. We just make the drive to the big cities for that.

But I got most of the benefits of quiet country living too....no airport noise, trains, highways, no nosey neighbors, can shoot critters threatening my garden, dark skies... life is good.

I live in a community that is spread out over the foot hills to the mountains north of Phoenix/Scottsdale. Not really rural, but my home backs up to National Wilderness/National Forest? I can't remember what they call it but it is desert and lot of it! Javelinas, bobcats, coyotes run through the desert wash behind me. I've had a bobcat in my back yard as well as a rattlesnake and lizards. (Yikes!) But it is beautiful, quiet and private. I can go out in the yard naked and do every day. Skinny dipping in the pool. :D

I live in a town of 150, biggest city is 65 miles away, the high school has to co-op with another school to play 6 man football.
