circumcision

why, in modern-day america, is it still considered the norm to disfigure male genitalia by circumcision?

penises come with a foreskin to protect the glans, so why go chopping it off your babies?

Harry doesn’t like yours?

supposedly hygienic. i wouldn't know since i'm among the chopped although i have run into a few cheesy uncut ones.

I certainly prefer the look of a circumcised one, for what that’s worth.
so mutilation is okay for cosmetic aesthetics

but you know the hygiene thing just isn't a thing in today's america. as for preferences, is it a case of what people are used to?

I agree. i like the look of a circumcised cock better too
okay, i'll chalk you down somewhere between hanban and rae

as a disclosure, i've been with both and have no personal feelings about one kind being prettier than the other. just seems bizarre to me that it's accepted as normal to slice the foreskin off a baby nowadays.

I've never been with a guy who wasn't circumcised.

Women have spoken:

In the overwhelming majority of studies, women expressed a preference for the circumcised penis. The main reasons given for this preference were better appearance, better hygiene, reduced risk of infection, and enhanced sexual activity, including vaginal intercourse, manual stimulation, and fellatio.

How big of a deal is it to have done? Seems to be a pretty standard thing.

american studies, or those around the world?

there is NO reason a guy should be dirty being uncut, just as a woman should have no issues with vaginal hygiene who have 'normal' labia without labiaplasty

my experience with men?
hygiene... no issues
appearance...no issues
infections...nope
and all the other points you make...no difference

In the US it is. Not in Europe.

I understand, but I’m speaking more to the procedure itself, not the number of people who do it. Doesn’t seem to be a major procedure with high risk.

Then don’t do it, if you don’t want it done. People have given a number of explanations as to why it is done. In the end it is a preference thing.

well i understand this

my point is why would they make those choices in america 2021 and i guess it's mostly down to aesthetics, cultivated by cultural 'norms'

Ain't nothing like gifting a newborn with decreased penile sensitivity for life.
i'm glad you brought that up... of course, all cut-as-babies males wouldn't know the difference since cut is their norm. i guess it's pretty hard for people in general to differentiate. seems to me reasonable to expect that nature put it there for a reason and if you cut through nerves there's most likely a decrease in sensitivity.

i brought it up just to look at this whole issue through different lenses of opinion, especially given the rightful distaste/anger/sorrow now shown towards female genital mutilations. sure, a circumcision is less extreme and, psychologically, hasn't been shown to harm babies, but i just find it hard to come to terms with inflicting pain on an infant for purely adult aesthetic values.

I think it's sad that Butters is so disdainful of her Jewish heritage.

Me: Kinda sucks to make that decision to circumcise for a kid who can't have a say.

Also me: We're begging doctors to perform this procedure by constantly demonstrating we can't be trusted with our own hygiene. Hell, we won't even wear masks on the chance it'll protect someone else from a deadly disease.

The US is an oddball in its non-religious preference for circumcision. Even here it is declining especially in the western states where about 20 to 30% of newborn males are circumcised.

Speaking as a female who has had one busted off in her 20 seconds in, too many times to count, a lot of guys could stand to lose a little more sensitivity. Haha

The US has a very high rate of women who prefer to schedule c sections, too. Doesn't translate to healthier moms or babies, either.
