Circumcision....discuss?

There's simply no end to this, is there?

Nope.

Doctors botch shit all the time. It's an art, not a science. Give me enough time and I'll show you 100 pics of keloid scars from bad earring piercings.

Babies aren't normally pierced when they're born. and kids usually only get them pierced because they want earings.

I have never agreed with you here, until now. Something new. :)

This same discussion happens again and again.

Yes, it's unnecessary surgery. Yes, there are complications, sometimes serious ones (but these are very rare). Yes, to argue that circumcision properly performed is mutilation is wildly exaggerated. Yes, there are some health benefits to circumcision (lower rates of penile cancer and UTI's, for instance). Yes, there are cultural considerations to take into account. Yes, female circumcision is performed and should be absolutely unacceptable. And yes, a serious analogy between female and male circumcision is silly.

I think that covers it.

I think you left out the part about which tastes better: the cut or uncut penis.

There would be those who would agree and those who didn't. It's a whole other thread! :D

Blood Ritual

Mezizah (the practice of orally sucking the bleeding penis with the mouth) is not outmoded or discarded. The photos below were published by the Jerusalem Post Magazine. We have reason to believe the practice has become more frequent since then.

Yuck.

The doctor has spoken. Now can everybody just shut the fuck up?

As if they matter! As an RN, your expert opinion is vastly more important.

As an RN, I am smart enough NOT to *really* say what I want to in this thread. :)

Wow... that's exactly what I tell my patients.

That's eerie.

(and NG - ok, then we'll settle for your non-professional "lay" opinion. ;))

Being a chiropractor has its privileges I imagine.

Tumbled have you sought out much needed psychological help?

I'm not being bitchy. Well, not too much. But you really do seem to have some psychological damage. Which may, or may not be, as a result of the circumcision as an infant - that you claim to remember.
