Chyoo Murder Mystery - Update 08/11

Aug 11, 2004

Hello,
I've decided to just edit this thread to let everybody know what is happening with the story. So when something comes up, or if anybody has any questions, here is where they can write and look for answers.

As the story will be a Murder Mystery. I've decided that once I have a confirmed list of characters I will write the names out and put them all in a hat. Then I will draw them one by one to determine who dies in what order. The first name out of the hat will be the mysterious killer. Once the drawing is done, I shall private message each writer. That way the story is somewhat secret and leaves mystery. I would like to keep people guessing as to who the murderer is.

When I private message each writer with their order of death, I'll try to create a couple clues that they can write into their death thread that will correspond with the killer. Hopefully, only the chosen writer and myself will know who the killer is.

Once your character has been killed you are welcome to write about other pre-existing characters, or you can help me create the story. I will probably need help with clues and such.

Any questions?

Great thread Lostandfounder... I like the gambler.

Count me in.

By the way, will there be sex? I'm still in if there isn't, but I am curious.

Eliminated (as suspects?) as in "their alibi holds up"?

Or "fail to survive" ?

It would seem like things would get very weird and fraught after, let's say, the second body shows up.

Could be interesting....I'll do it.

Do we get to introduce minor supporting characters beyond the main 13? :)

If Kittys in so am I. I can't have her be the only female with all those men about.

Hmmmn murder mystery hey.... Does that mean I get to faint a lot when someone bites it?

Great response!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I have been fine-tuning my intro thread and such. I have also created a couple secondary characters to throw into the mix.

Here's who I have confirmed to be part of the story...

1. Niceguy2002tim (ME)
2. Daciasdesire
3. Lostandfounder
4. Gystex
5. OoohKitty
6. Augy666

7. Zingiber? I wasn't sure if Zingiber agreed or not.

Here is who I'd like to be part of the story (unconfirmed so far)

8. Jakelyon
9. Kendalh6969
10. Lilguy
11. Torg
12. AaronWebster
13. Sim8245

Anybody else is welcome!

Here are the secondary, fictional characters:

Chyoo Moderator - The Host of the Event
Jacobs - The Butler
Dominique - French maid.
Richard - The Cook
Ashley Evans - reality TV Producer.
2 female and 1 male ‘B’ Celebs to boost ratings.

I am open to any suggestions for the 'B' Celebs.

To answer one more question, YES, there will be sex. I hope there will be lots of sex. And... strangely enough, Dacia and Kitty will be roomies. LOL.

I am afraid you will have to count me out. I am not good at this type of game. I might be better able to get into it if it was part of a story, and I could be a totally fictional character, but somehow interjecting my "real self" into the game is not working for me.

Sorry.

:D

Did you hear that Kitty? We're going to be roomies!!! I'm going to go and pack my frilly nightie right now.

Well, I'm not wild about the premise of 12 of 13 of Chyoo's finest authors, in their own personas, being murdered one per day on worldwide TV ("Thirteen Little Indians?"). (Am I understanding this right?)

On the other hand, I thought The Chyoo Ball was fun, but maybe could have benefited from a little more structure.

So... I'm not sure if I'm in. Tell me more.

A Solution!

OK, I understand what Z. and others are talking about. (Using their own selves in this story.) SOOOOO... I have an idea.

WHAT IF...

it were a ROLE PLAYING STORY? Each person creates a fictional character and they're responsible for that person in the story. Others could write stuff about them, but to make sure that character isn't neglected a writer would be responsible for them?

How does this sound? I kind of like the idea. Male writers could be female characters and vice versa. With the exception of Dacia and Kitty, who as most of you agree, must be female... more exciting that way. lol.

This idea would help me out with the secondary characters too. They could be up for grabs.

So what do you guys think of that? Post your replies, and character ideas. I will edit my introduction to feature the fictional characters rather than real people.

When I post the introduction I will type up a list of characters and the names of who are responsible for them. Also, if some people wanted to be responsible for more than one character it would be acceptable, maybe needed.

Lastly, my idea for the character I will play will be, Andrew Miller. A 26 yr old newly married man, whose wife is not a part of the reality show. He is alone there and well, probably not be faithful to his wife. Perhaps his wife could be a character, if somebody wanted to play her. Perhaps both are in the mansion and go back and forth trying to get even with each other by sleeping with everybody else? Just a thought.

I am considering cutting out the "chyoo" related parts in the story and just making it a murder mystery, reality TV thing. Any thoughts?

Let me know,
Tim (niceguy2002tim)

All right, so we need to come up with a character or characters huh?

How about Ramone Blondinen, a twenty year old German punk rocker. He's rough and tumble on the exteroir, but is a coward at heart.

If that's too stupid....Jet Spiegal a thirty something professional gambler who sees the show (and every relationship) as just another roll of the dice.

It would be weird to 'play' a female character, but if push came to shove, I could do it.

I would like to at least see some minor references to Chyoo make their way into the story....maybe a minor character or something could be brought in...but if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work..

that's all

If you need another character, I'm in. Jerome Webster, the (reasonably cliched) silent type. No one really knows anything about him, except that he has an eyebrow that seems to raise of its own accord every time someone says anything or looks at him, and that he's been drinking that same damn G & T for the last hour. He seems to be concentrating intently on the other guests...

If not I'll plump for a secondary character. As a great wordsmith once wrote, "I'm easy like Sunday morning."

Your character sugestions sound fine with me. Although 3 or 4 people aren't enough. I am starting to wonder if I should create the characters then ask for people to play them?

Any help would be great.

-Tim

If I actually had time I'd be interested in taking part, unfortunatly work doesnt really permit me with enough free time to do something like this. If it still hasn't got off the ground by trhe end of August (unlikely) count me in.

If you're stiull wanting new players/characters...count me in too...

Allow me to come up with my own character and I'll introduce her at the masion. Gotta have some mystery in a murder mystery afterall!!!

Dacia

Well it would seem I'm now back earlier than expected, so if there are any free spaces I might be able to take part. I'll have a character drawn up soon.

Latest News...

I've been trying to find time to finish my editing of the intro, and I am going to send an e-mail or private message out to the people requesting their casting call. Once the intro is posted everybody can come and add their own character's introduction to the story. I might request that certain people play the role of a female, while other play male. That way the murder mystery isn't a "weenier fest."

I'll post more later. I hope everybody is still interested in the story.
