Is it just me, or is Chyoo not gaining any real support?
Any volunteers to co-author a story there, anyone is welcome, any number of people can help...
Let's try and give Lit's little sister a push forward.

I don't know what the secret to that place is! I started a story there, and kept writing to it so people wouldn't think I'd started it then left. After I'd given up on it, two people posted to it, just recently. But it took a hell of a lot of writing (from me) just to keep it going.

It did fairly well, got some good votes. But I get the feeling that unless people know each other, they don't post to other's stories. Maybe it's just me and my own paranoia!

I'd like to do more stories there, but it takes so long to get the intial story approved (which is why I approved the 2 I received within 24 hours), and then it seems so difficult to get people to post there. I'm not sure if the time investment is worth the outcome.

Im guessing Quiet_Cool has the right idea. Why not start a thread in one of the roleplay forums looking for people that want to pair up? Not much interest in writing if you don't know when anyone is going to read it next, let alone contribute.

Actually, I'm very active in the Sexual Role Play forum here at Lit. I cut my teeth, figuratively, on it. I enjoy it, and it can be a lot of fun.

However, an interactive site, like Chyoo, is just a bit different. The biggest difference is that, in roleplay you play one character. In the interactive format, you can write a whole segment of a story - you can be all characters, if you choose to be. I think it's exciting and fun. But would be more so if more people would become, well, interactive!

Yes, interaction is the key to it, and I think that a lot of the people who go there are from Lit, but Watchers, not really Posters. I'm pretty active on the ORP board, and I've been to the SRP boards but keep forgetting which threads I'm in...besides, too much reading to keep up sometimes.
Anyway, if you guys are interested in giving it a try, we can bang ideas around on here and then set up a thread in the Chyoo baords to keep our notes straight. Who knows, if we get the story interesting enough, others might pitch in...

Sorry I'm gonna be way too busy for a while. I think the online-roleplay is the place to advertise, sort of an OOC thread.

Quiet_Cool - what kinds of ideas are you thinking of? There are certain categories I don't write well in - Sci Fi and Fantasy are the two biggies for me that don't seem to inspire much. I'd be happy to kick around some ideas and see what happens. Either here or PM is fine with me.

But I think the biggest hurdle you will have is that most people will think that interactive stories are role play - they are not. And most roleplayers won't want to get involved with interactive stories. Sort of a double-edged sword, in some ways.

Let me know what's on your mind. Maybe we can get some interest developed.

Naturally, I'm talking erotic stories...let's face it, the people who come here expect that, and the people who go there do as well. Other than the erotic label, I had no particular plan. Normally I do sci-fi/fantasy well, but I can write almost anything given the interest. Mostly, I just think that the site is a good idea that's been neglected. I'd like to see it gain more interest. I figured the writers of Lit. was the plausible place to look for such stimulation.
What type stories do you normally write?
Oh, and I intentionally avoided the RP boards because this isn't RP oriented. They'll freeze the thread, then erase it anyway. And, people will think I intend a regualr RP thread at Lit, which isn't the purpose. I will start a thread on the General Board if you think it will help...

I'm afraid I have a tendency to stick to some of the more "common" genres - "Erotic Couples", "Loving Wives", that sort of thing. I can do BDSM fairly well.

I'm open to Sci Fi/Fantasy. One things are that in Fantasy I get confused when people bring in different worlds and I get lost between what an elf and what a dwarf are - that sort of thing. In Sci Fi, I can handle it if things don't get too technical. I'd probably be better at Sci Fi than Fantasy, as long as the "techie" stuff wasn't as prevalent. More of a strangeness or weirdness would probably suit me.

Btw, I think this is a great idea. Perhaps if interest is gained, there could be a couple of stories started on Chyoo.

just in case you think you're alone here too... i'm watching this thread with interest. i know nothing about chyoo, so i'm learning from what you're posting. thanks :)

Wildsweetone, check out the sight. IT's a choose-your-own adventure type site, but members can submit their own options/storylines to the story's original author for approval.
And Chele, if you want, and approve, then the "techie stuff" can be added by the author if it gains approval. For example, I had an idea for one that's Fantasy, where a man creates the "perfect woman" by making a manequin. It talks and what not and he makes love to it. It just popped into my head, so that's all I have so far. If we wrote this, then the techie stuff would be simple. If you didn't want to bother with the technical details, I could add it when editing, with your approval...
Just an idea. I'm not sold on that idea yet, just thought it would make a good example.
I'm not very good at BDSM, of course, I haven't tried it, in real life or in literary terms. Maybe its a hidden quatily I haven't yet discovered.
LEt's strt to kick som ideas around, see if we generate any interest.
