Chyoo is great..why doesn't it get updated?

In my opinion chyoo is potentially way better than the "classic" literotica stories, simply because it adds "interactivity" in all the system.

So I was wondering why it doesn't get treated like it deserves, both in visibility and development\updates. :\

And if anyone agrees with me: how do you think we can get the admns\site responsibles attention on this matter? I've started by sending the feedback with the "help us improve" tab that pops up on the right. ^^

It's the 100,000-dollar Q you'd have to pay them far more than that to honestly answer. It's like the step-relative of Literotica, so they don't feel it deserves more than it gets.

If someone lives (or happens to be visiting) in Literotica's home town, we could probably pry it out of them with a nice lunch or some homemade cookies. At least I presume they have an office where things happen, including lunch.

That is so funny that you ask about an update. This site hasn't really been updated in about 6 years. If you count the homepage message than its 4 years.

I don't understand why the site doesn't really interest the owners. Times are changing and people want more interactivity! Nintendo has made big money with their Nintendo Wii and the DS.

If the site had the right person to sell it, the idea would spread like wild fire. Porn is the biggest industry on the internet. You add that interaction of Chyoo and BANG, you got something great.

But, not everybody sees it that way.

Oh It's not only Nintendo...there's the whole (video)gaming industry behind the concept of interaction (an industry that have already surpassed the sales of the film industry).

I vote the masters of chyoo feel free to get ads (so long as they don't bog down the browser)

But what do people really want to change (IChyoo)? Until you asked for an update I hadn't really thought about it.

Here are some thing that would be nice I guess. (but do we really need anything new)

1.) Searches within genres?
2.) Check
3.) Sub genres? (do werewolved, tentacle demons, and aliens really need to be 4)together, lol)
4.) Pretty colors?
5.) A spell check?
6.) Let stories have a multiple genres?
7.) Add a swf. section?
8.) Let stories tell you they are dead (say like when no thread has been approved in year)? okay, this I would love.
9.) Someone to fix problems? I mean what the hell is up with hinata's curse?

PS Nilth they said you were one but I could pm you just wonder what your works on chyoo were?

TBH I'd have plenty of suggestions to improve chyoo, if only I saw some sign from the admins.
But unfortunately there seems to be no interest in this, and that's a shame because as I've said "potentially" chyoo is way more "captivating" than the classic literotica fictions (thx to the interactivity).

As far as I know, no one is in charge. I have seen no evidence of any admin on CHYOO since a few of us were made into moderators several years ago (like 3-4 years).

Multiple messages to Manu and others has resulted in nada, bupkis, nothing.

As far as I'm concerned, this is all we get and there's no point in pushing for more. We would be much better off taking our marbles elsewhere, either to an existing site, like Choose Your Own Adventure, or making one of our own, ala CHYOO 3.

If only we still had the code for CHYOO 3, I'd find a way to host it and continue to develop it, since it's PHP and I'm supposed to learn it for work.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but that's my opinion. CHYOO has been neglected for over seven years. I don't think that's going to change.

Perhaps a silly question but why can't anyone just copy the php code and develop it further? Has it been encrypted or is it just a hideous mess?

You must be able to garner something useful from looking at the code through the "view source code" option in most browsers. Or am away with the fairies once again?

Because CHYOO 2 (the current CHYOO) is written in straight HTML, generated with CGI.

The replacement someone (horny-oz?) wrote a few years ago, when there were no moderators, and no one was approving new stories, was written in PHP. That code we don't have.

I honestly don't want them to update it. Chyoo is one of the least dependable sites that I've ever come across (it's down again at the moment, and have been so on and off for the last three hours, and it was playing up yesterday as well), and I really can't imagine that any updates of it would actually improve it.

I think that while it has been abandoned for years, chyoo is a scraper, and a damn struggler, a street urchin, an onion kid, what I saying is in seven years it has yet to die, it may be saggy round the waist and get off the couch for jog now and again, but he ain't dead yet.

PS Choose your own adventure gives me a headache so I'll stick with chyoo as long as you others will. I'll the be the last man standing before I leave. Viva la Chyoo!

As an example of the poor state of the CHYOO, sometimes random stories just vanish. The last one I remember was Population Crisis, a fine story with hundreds of threads. I had some good work in that one.
