Hey

Pretty new to this and was thinking about creating my own story. How do you get it to use the persons name when they type it in? (First Name / Last Name thing, gets used through the story)

Sweet! Thanks for the help. Couldn't find anything that described how you make an Interactive Story. I'll give it a shot later today or tomorrow.

Thanks! That will help a lot. I've enjoyed 'reading' some of the stories on the site. How active is the place? I found a webpage (did search for Chyoo, thinking it was the software they use) from a few years ago saying the place was dead/the mods were gone.

Well, there WAS a time when there were no mods, so no new stories got approved. But not any more. Now if only we would get the new chyoo version we were promised years ago...

It didn't stop the authors, though. A valiant author reimplemented Chyoo on his own, and the regulars were getting ready to move their stories over to the new site. And then Literotica revived Chyoo and appointed some regulars as moderators, and the action came back here.

I suppose if it happens again someone might revive it elsewhere. But maybe we, the story editors, should figure out a good mechanism for backing up our stories. I've got most of my threads as text documents, but I don't have my stories in linked story form.

A good chunk of my threads are on a personal wiki not open to the public. This is where I do my writing of new threads. My earliest threads are all text files on my home machine.

If I were to try to replace CHYOO (if it died or whatever), I'd use the Wiki idea. Up and running in an hour.

The rules are decided by the owners of the site. Some are based on legalities and fear of prosecution. Some are based on personal preference. But regardless, it is their right to have what rules they have.

If they are too restrictive, find another place to write those stories.

I personally find very little that I can't write here, and the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. For me.

I don't know if the single word "Riles" counts as spam, but I'll treat it as spam. <BLAM!>

And since I don't think that anybody here is interested in discussing their general health status with a nigerian doctor, I'll see your <BLAM!> and raise you a <SLAM!>
