So, I was kind of bored and found myself browsing the front page of Lit. Lots of weird categories and sections whose existence I had forgotten about. But one thing I found was a section for “Interactive Stories”. There are a couple of links to forums, only 3 stories total, then a link to what sounds like a sort of sister site to LitE, chyoo.com

It’s a VERY old looking site. Last new story added in 2018. One of the top stories is a message of sorts, linking to the so-called “new CHYOO”. This eventually leads to a link to “CHYOA” dot com. The page also has an interesting note of: “Please join us and leave this site behind until Manu finally decides to work with the new site to make this one better.” Sounds like some sort of drama unfolded here? Any old-timers here recall what went down?

CHYOA seems a lot more modern and active. A lot of the stories seem very elaborate, regarding their available choices. The main point of this thread is to ask if any of you have ever written this kind of interactive erotic fiction. It sounds like an interesting writing exercise, although probably not something I would want to write exclusively. I’m sorry if it’s gauche to talk about other sites on this forum, but this one seems to have some sort of connection (Tenuous? Historical?) to LitE, so I hope it’s okay.

I started writing something over there. I wanted to create a Groundhog style adventure, but ultimately found the programming side of it too limited. It's an okay site for simple branching adventures, but the quality of writing and the depth of storytelling are much poorer than Literotica.com stuff.

choose-your-own-adventures are HARD to do justice to. This is the same with almost any computer-run RPG out there - there's limits as to how out-of-the-box you can be, depending on the writers/programmers.

IMO this is why human-driven role play - regardless if it's kinky, scifi, fantasy horror, and/or western (or whatever other categories you choose to add), humans are still too messy for computers to handle.

For the last couple of years my wife and I have been working on a joint project in between all our other ventures and its a guide to role playing for people who aren't really sure how to do it

"Who are we tonight?"
The art of cheating on your spouse, with your spouse

We've been role playing for twenty years and it always amazes both of us how many people don't know how to do it.

The book will explain what it is, the fact that if either person has a jealous nature this is not for you "You want me to be your boss? Why? You have a thing for your boss? You think about him?"

Some rules and boundaries and of course pre created role plays done three ways

Quick and dirty-you can do these when you're going to bed, just very simple little scenarios "Coed doesn't have the rent, offers to take it out in trade" sort of thing

date night...creating characters and playing them over dinner, could be friends co=workers, anyone and the premise is they do dinner, some drinks, flirt then back to someone's place.

Slow burns...week long build ups featuring texts, e-mails maybe phone calls really create an air of anticipation.

Course even though she's helping the book will be in my name

Because of her day job, her life coaching business and...she's in Ministerial school. :D

I never understood what the Chyoo business was all about. I don't feel the loss.

Netflix have started doing it. Bandersnatch was quite good, and Carmen Santiago was okay.
But it's difficult to give readers/viewers choices and still make it immersive storytelling.
