I was wondering What everyone is having today? I always have a hard time trying to figure out the Menu for Christmass. New Years is a week later, so having 2 major holidays a week apart is a pain. Ham for Christmasss...Turkey for New Years? Too close for Turkey again. Maybe Pizza? I dunno lol. This is my menu for the day

Breakfast

Gingerbread flavored coffee
Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Buns
Betty Crocker Brownies
for mid morning & Mid afternoon grazing.

Lunch

Rice Pilaf
Grands flaky biscuits
Stuffing w Jimmy Dean Sausage
Boneless,Skinless Chicken breast
Stuffed with diced Apple,Swiss & Ham Dressing
Pan seared and finished off in the oven.
Steamed Asparagus bundles


Dinner

Going to my Sisters for dinner, no cooking for me! lol.
All I know for sure ....Ham is on the menu.
I'm supplying the Mince & Apple Pies.
A bottle of Caravella Lemoncello.
I expect there will be Rum spiked Egg Nogg too,

I am in the middle of cooking:

Turkey
Ham
Deviled Eggs
Fruit Salad
Olives
Pickles
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes.

and a few other things that I am still figuring out.
 
Sounds like a day filled with yumminess, BBG1970!

For dinner tonight I'm making:

Turkey and Gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Stuffing
Brussels Sprouts
Roasted Sweet Potatoe
Cranberry Sauce
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie and Dark Chocolate Fondue with fruit/pound cake/licqourice
 
Homemade cinnamon rolls with pecans for breakfast

I made fresh salmon and dill filled deviled eggs
And
Ham and asparagus roll ups

To take for appetizers for a late lunch/dinner at a friends
 
Creme brulee french toast, locally cured thick cut bacon, and fruit for brunch.

Cheese, fruit, crackers, ham and pecans for snacking on through the afternoon.

In about an hour from now...

Standing rib roast (dry aged for a week)
Mushroom and onion sauce
Baked Potatoes
Glazed carrots
Sauteed spinach with garlic and mustard (sauteed in the bacon drippings from this morning)
Popovers with chive butter
Pecan pie
 
We had ours yesterday and will be grazing off of it for the next couple of days.

Gravy
Sweet potato praline
Stuffing
Asparagus
Corn on Cob
Carrots
Wheat rolls with honey butter
Deviled eggs
Cheesy Spinach-artichoke dip

Got up and made a big breakfast...grits, biscuits, bacon and sweet tea.





I've got a pot of pasta sauce simmering now, gonna make some mostaccioli.
 
I made vanilla french toast with sourdough bread and sausage patties for breakfast.

No set lunch, I had some brie, crackers and summer sausage slices.

Dinner will be a smoked pork roast
Deviled eggs(thanks for the idea Azuldragon!)
Salad with blue cheese crumbles, spiced walnuts, asparagus, mushrooms
Homemade Mac and cheese

For dessert... I am trying this coffee rice pudding recipe
 
Someone dropped off some yummy home made cinnamon rolls for me this morning.
Pizza and hot chocolate for lunch
Leftover pizza for dinner most likely

For 15 people.

I'm absolutely knackered. Food turned out excellent though.
Tomorrow morning - I'm making soup and curry for the freezer, and the most awesome post-xmas sandwiches on the face of the planet! :D

Hot Christmas Pudding and home made cream
Ice cream Plum Pudding

All washed down with bottles of Asti Spumante

Needless to say didn't do tea/dinner
