After riding in my car tonight seeing the houses and lawns lit up I began to wonder:
Do you decorate your house?
Just how many is too many?
Do we really need inflatables?
What was the worst house you ever saw?
What was the best house you ever saw?

Great idea me!

Do you decorate your house?
Inside yes. A little outside. Since this is my first Christmas at this house, not sure what I will do.

Just how many is too many?
When the electric bill for the month of December is greater than the sum of all bills January through November. *Does that sound like a math problem, or what?* ;)

Do we really need inflatables?
Need? No. Enjoy? Sure!

What was the worst house you ever saw?
One that had a zillion lights with no rhyme nor reason to it......just threw on a bunch of lights and when it is all lit up, passers by need to don sunglasses and some spf 30+ sunscreen to prevent a burn.

What was the best house you ever saw?
A "live" nativity scene on given nights during the season. Heck, I got to participate in one once, it was way cool! :)

I decorate inside and out too. Inside I tend to use fresh materials, fruits, flowers and greens. I have a small tree I use as well. My place isn't that large so little touches here and there do it for me. I also do the traditional white light in the windows, I've always loved the look of the rooms - feels nice inside.

I decorate my front door and my deck. I do different things each year. I'm still thinking up ideas for them. Sometimes I 'wrap' my door and put a big ribbon on it, so it looks like a package, other times just a simple wreath. On my deck I've wrapped the railing with lights and put up wreaths, a few years ago I wrapped large boxes, all different sizes, and big bows - it looked really pretty.

I'm trying to figure out a good way to turn the posts into candy canes. I think I just need to get some heavy gauge wire and form the curve, then add red and white lights. But I'm still thinking up ideas.

I like putting up lights. I don't over do it though, just means more to take down. Not into the inflatibles though, yuck.

I don't have any "inflatable things" either. :p

Do you decorate your house? ~Usually I do, but this year my life is in transition so I am not doing hardly anything but making the kid happy.

Just how many is too many? ~If you need sunglasses to see the house that is way too many. I love Chevy Chase! :D

Do we really need inflatables? ~God No!!

What was the worst house you ever saw? ~There are so many I can possibly choose. My pet peeve is if you are going to go to the trouble of outlining your house in lights then for goodness sake make them straight. I hate seeing them all every which way. Then there are those that will throw up a few strands of clear icicles and then some colored ones. Can we say Tacky!! Oh and I absolutely hate blue lights. If your not Jewish don't just throw up a blue lights and think that is Christmassy enough. It's not!! ;)

What was the best house you ever saw? ~We have a house on a lake not far from here that does it so perfectly. White lights frame every inch of their two story home and windows. Colored lights in the bushes and trees. Just the right amount of cute lawn stuff. No giant blow up Santa or Frosty. Very classy.
