If there's an election in November, I assume Christie will pick some older unemployed person as the interim Senator, possibly Christie Whitman if she still lives in New Jersey. No one is going to give up a real job to serve 6 months in the Senate.

Those who think he's going to pick some Tea Party idiot are overestimating how many of those exist in Jersey. Besides, Christie will be on the ballot himself this fall.
