Christians used to have same-sex church weddings

And, as late as 1061.

A same-sex marriage between the two men Pedro Díaz and Muño Vandilaz in the Galician municipality of Rairiz de Veiga in Spain occurred on 16 April 1061. They were married by a priest at a small chapel. The historic documents about the church wedding were found at Monastery of San Salvador de Celanova.[61]

Also:

In 342 AD Christian emperors Constantius II and Constans issued a law in the Theodosian Code (C. Th. 9.7.3) prohibiting same-sex marriage in Rome and ordering execution for those so married.[60]

Well, you don't bother to ban something unless somebody's actually doing it, do you?

So go tell a forum full of fundamentalist Christians who rant and rave about same-sex unions being un-Christian.

This isn't it.

No, but we have quite an anti-SSM crowd here, and their motivation is clearly religious and specifically Christian in many cases.

I am surprised Rick Santorum's head didn't explode when he learned of this.

... or maybe he secretly rejoiced because now he can come out of the closet and still luv Jesus?
