Christ!

Damn! I hope everyone's okay.

I remember a similar (smaller-scale, most likely) event in Southern Maryland in the mid-80s when I lived there. Middle of the night explosion from the other side of the county -- and the reverberation from it literally knocked me out of bed.

I remember hearing the Hercules gun powder plant blowing up one night when I was a young teen. I had been up all night watching adult movies when the house shook three times. I had broken a window in the house earlier in the day so I thought it was my father upset that I had been up all night watching TV, but it was just an explosion 50 miles away.

I just went back and watched Rob's link to the video of the explosion itself. Damn! That looked like something the Air Force would do on purpose. The residents are right. Whoever approved that facility has some serious explaining to do. What was he thinking . . . with!

We've had a 'business friendly' government in power, at all levels for over a decade.

If an explosives factory asked to be put up next to a school, it would probably be okayed. :(

I forsee a great issue rising in the next election . . . or not, if it's far enough away.
