China's President Jiang confessed that he had little experience at answering question from Western journalists...

From the London Times, 22 February 2002

"As Mr Jiang struggled with the issues, Bush winked knowingly at the US delegation and fought back a grin."

Does the man have to act like an overgrown schoolkid all the time.

"Hey gang, look at the funny little man with the funny little eyes trying to be sophisticated like us!"

Sometimes I could happily put a brick through his smug bastard face...

What choice does he have? We're not talking about the brightest porch light on the block.

Being selected, not elected, I guess he can be as smug as he likes! Oh well.

We survived Regan and his dad, we'll survive him too, I hope...

Quoted from the article Unregistered insisted we idiots read.

"All the world's people, including the people of China, should be free to choose how they live, how they worship and how they work." George Bush

I would love to see these freedoms in America. I am not free to live how I want to live because I am gay. I am not free to work because of widespread unemployment and because I do not worship like the mainstream I am discriminated in this area also.

Pray we survive "Resident" Bush and the fall out is not too heavy to be overcome.

I am with you p-p, he does not have to even open his mouth to be obnoxious. All he has is his smugness because he has nothing else. It took an act of terrorism and the country going into shock to even give him a smattering of credibility.

Wow! Another "brilliant" thought from the state subsidized mind of ppboy.

Are we perhaps, resorting to violent thoughts now ppboy.

Go out and live life a while pp. Your ranting and raving is getting very old, even though it grows more amusing every time you open you mouth and spew forth the wisdom of your few years of being supported by everyone but yourself.

hahahahahahahah!

wise asses, the art of insulting people with out saying a word is an art form developed early in Texas history. If i may be so bold to point out the cannon shot that answered the mexican call to surrender at the alamo.

sure it got them all killed, but the looks on the faces of the mexicans must of been a hoot!

as for myself, with only a smirk i have gotten beat about the head and shoulders by an outraged female that i had baited up for a couple of weeks.

with a snicker, i was ran out of a deli by a cook with a laddle.

so, you see it is an native Texan art form.

just a word fron the cracker.

Bush told the Japanese parliament: "My trip to Asia begins here in Japan for an important reason. It begins here because for a century and a half now, America and Japan have formed one of the great and enduring alliances of modern times. From that alliance has come an era of peace in the Pacific."

His own father fought the Japanese in World War Two. He just makes me sad.

Come again? What does an article from the Washington Post have to do with quotes from the London Times?

The media is a many-headed hydra.

Or... somethin....

why is my damaged processor flashing to an image of pandora and cockheads?

Well, I suppose when all is said and done...

he had to act so openly for the journalists because he's achieved fuck all else on this trip.

He's embarrassed at his own failure, that's all.

Apart from promises of support from all the countries he's visited for his "war" against terrorism.

But he could have got that by e-mail...

Caroline... I would have thought that if Bush had made a mistake like you described, it would have been all over the news... So I did A LOT of research after reading your post. I read almost everything I could find on the subject and I even found a copy of the transcript from Bush's speech to the Japanese parliament.

Bush said "a half century now", NOT "a century and a half now."

This is the kind of thing that causes so much trouble. I doubt Caroline intentionally "created" the quote she posted. I assume she was quoting someone else who was intentionally trying to defame Bush.

When Bush was in Japan, he did make a speaking mistake. He used the word devaluation rather than deflation. This caused a momentary problem on the currency exchange markets, but it was corrected within minutes with minimal damage done.

This is only a porn board, but there are some people who read what people post on these boards and take it with them into the real world, as truth. When you post your opinions, post anything you want to post, regardless to how ridiculous others may feel your opinions are. When you post something that is supposed to be factual, it might help if those facts are confirmed first.

just one man's thoughts...

I read that too and thought it was a little odd. I mean Bush is pretty dumb but even he has to remember what his father told him or what he has heard about the stuff his father did.

My dad was in Vietnam but never ever talks about it so I don't have a clue what he did.

Good point.

That's why I come down heavily on those posters who so obviously don't know what they're talking about but state it with all the sincereity of truth

I wouldn't be at all surprised if many politicians come here to see which way the wind is blowing.

:)

You are wrong. Bush said a century and a half and it was removed from the transcript by the U.S. White House. This was reported on several international news websites. You are wrong. Bush said 150 years.

You need to apologize for attacking a nother poster when you are wrong. You should not believe the transcript which was doctored by the U.S. White House. If Clinton changed transcripts so often as Bush does, then he would be attacked by same people who will praise lying Bush.

Normally, I don't reply to trolls, but this is too funny.

It's funny because the only place I could find a copy of the full transcript of Bush's speech to the Japanese parliament was on a JAPANESE website..... KYODO News.... the link in here:

http://home.kyodo.co.jp/all/display3para.jsp?an=20020219080&cate=

Most people who read these threads are capable of making their own judgements about your credibility.... troll...

I can imagine that there are a few people who share some of your political opinions who are not very happy with you right now...

(note: when I previewed this post, the link would not work. I don't know if the links are supposed to work in the preview mode, but if it doesn't work, just do a search on Yahoo for "Bush Japan" and the Kyodo news website will be listed... you will see a link to Bush in Japan... then a story containing the full test of Bush's speech. If you do a search on Bush Japan, you will also see countless other articles from many sources, covering Bush's trip to Japan. You will not find a single article that says anything about what the troll is talking about.)

The BBC says he said it, and the US State Department said he said it. As for it not being widely reported, so what? He has a free pass in the media, most of the foolish things he says are not widely disseminated.
Here's the URL to the USIA transcript. You are, of course, free to believe what you want to believe.
