Well, Chris Rock's argument, delivered through abrasive, sarcastic [and damn funny!] commentary is that there's a part of the black community that shirks its responsibilities, and, rather than dedicate itself to bettering itself, has decided to embrace its own corruption. He's also arguing that the rest of the black community should and does get pissed the fuck off by it--and judging by the crowd's reaction, he's quite right. And he argues that "the niggers got to go!"Bandit1 said:Now that was funny as hell!
And more true than a lot of people will admit.
Same goes for George Carlin's White Trash rant.
Shaq said:PS-This is just a criticism of some blacks. Bill Cosby was verbally lynching every poor black person and blaming them and pretty much completely absolving the institutions tha favor whites.

I'm on a 5.6k land line and have 3.6M downloaded so far. I'm just wondering if I'm close to the end, or will it take another hour to download?
RoryN said:I also like (read: sarcasm) Cosby's emphasis on education for young, black people when he never got a degree without writing a check in lieu of taking classes.
Only if you're an immigrant, apparently.Freya said:It's possible to know the value of education without having one yourself.

RoryN said:True, but that doesn't matter. Telling young black people to work hard for an education when you didn't makes you a hypocrite. Therefore, even if the message is sound, it is diminished for the intended audience.
Slider69 said:Chris Rock is a hypocrite. He makes millions exploiting and promoting the racial discord that he so denounces here. What bullshit.

It's Cosby's argument, and call for personal responsbility. Delivered by Chris Rock.
Shaq said:I'll make a reply to this later but this is something that Dave Chappelle talked about when he said he uses descretion when saying the n-word publicly because people can't handle it.
PS-Blacks are human beings. We have a responsibility to live up to our potential. We don't, but neither does any other human being. No one lives up to their full potential so there is a lot we can do better to better our own state.
That doesn't detract from the fact that this country is harder for minorities, especially african americans, than it is if you're white.
And the other 95 are screwed from the jump.
Shazzbutt said:Minorities have alot more breaks than white children growing up in schools and the work place now days.
Shaq said:It's like what used to happen for years. Whenever a crime would go down the media, and I've seen this happen, would pass up about 45 black people that look like they could give an accurate account of what happen and put the mike up to the face of a dude that looked like he just finished smoking crack.
"Mr. Jenkins what happened?"
"Aww shit! I saw dem guns bust, n nen I hearr' screamin'. So I's like, shieet n***a I gots a charge I can' git caught today! Do I dipped ya heard!?"
Yes I believe youShaq said:So lets say you're right. I don't say you are but lets suppose.
Minorites have a lot of breaks in school and the workplace now right? Since like 1970 give or take.
Whites had breaks and advantages since the 1700s until then.
So in 200 years or so we'll call it even.
