Choose your own adventure vs short story vs novel

What's the best sort of erotic book to read and why?

Choose your own adventure? Like the Leisure Suit Larry game, you decide what happens next (albeit not actually knowing what's around the corner). There are some erotic "choose your own adventure" type books out there.

Short story? Short erotic flings or affairs, lunchtime reading, bedtime reading. Mostly erotic sex with a different backdrop and scenario. Some readers like to skip the romantic scene and get to the action.

Single story novels? The characters have an emotional arc, there are changes in them, there is a backdrop and intimately constructed world with rules. There is a long term goal and erotic scenes are interspersed between the real plot.

I've always liked the idea of a 'choose your own adventure' style erotic story. Unfortunately I have never come across one that is actually well written.

Yeah, I always loved choose your own adventure but I'm not sure how I'd feel about them now.

I've got a Kindle now and wonder how I'd got with it. On the other hand, I can no longer read full books without getting impatient or fed up with them. Maybe short stories. I can't actually make my mind up.
