Nice toasty browness without burning the whole thing.

Plus you get to play with a blow torch.

I learned about that technique when I watched a Food Network show on Baked Alaska. Does wonders on meringue.

The mix of savory and sweet is definitely a very widely used and common combo.

I remember I used to work at a Spanish tapas restaurant, and one of the dishes we served were dates wrapped in bacon. They were incredible.

So chocolate covered bacon might just be a surprisingly good conbo as well. And apparently by the photo, it was good enough to where the person had finished all of the rest.

I love your philosophy of trying new things.

Prosciutto is a dry-cured uncooked ham. The saltyness of it wrapped around a sweet melon is scrumptious.
