Chipped Wisdom Tooth

If it doesn't hurt, don't worry about it. Make an appointment and get it filled or capped. The same thing happened to me. I got it filled twice and it kept breaking. The last time I waited a year before I came across a dentist who actually capped it correctly. As long as you don't wait until it rots away you'll be okay.

for tonight

You can brush it and should. If the rough edge is going to drive you nuts, dental wax is available at your local pharmacy - cheap. If it doesn't hurt it don't use orajel that stuff is nasty!

why would they cap a wisdom tooth.

Dentists like them removed because they are so hard to work on, to far bck and 1/2 covered with gum tissue.

*Shrugs* It wasn't much of a chip. It took less than five minutes to work on it.

see a dentist....if the tooth just chipped they can put a molding on it...but if you cracked it you have two options root canal or extraction.....

capping requires color patch and grinding it to a point

then crowing it right?

Well, I actually didn't get a cap. It was just a regular filling. So I guess you might be right.
