Chipotle Manager: Hillary Clinton Didn't Leave Anything in Tip Jar
The bill came to just over $20, and no change was deposited into the tip jar on the counter.
One of the great political mysteries of the early 2016 presidential campaign has been solved: Hillary Clinton did not leave a tip at the Chipotle restaurant she visited during her road trip to Iowa on Sunday.
"Her bill was $20 and some change, and they paid with $21 and left" without putting anything in a tip jar on the counter, Charles Wright, the manager at the Maumee, Ohio, Chipotle restaurant told Bloomberg.
Wearing large sunglasses, Clinton wasn't recognized by any of the workers at the fast-food Mexican chain when she and Huma Abedin, the vice chairwoman of her presidential campaign, ordered a chicken burrito bowl, a chicken salad, a blackberry Izzy, and a soda.

"The other lady paid the bill," Wright said of one of Clinton's dark-haired companions. "Clinton didn't pay."
The incognito campaigners entered the Chipotle shortly after 1 p.m., "at the end of the lunch rush," Wright, 29, said. "There were still a bunch of customers, but it wasn't crazy or anything."
The change from the meal totaled less than a dollar, but it was pocketed rather than deposited in the tip jar as many customers at the restaurant do, Wright said.
"We get a bunch of tips," said Wright, who is a Republican and says he isn't planning on voting for Clinton. "If we're doing our job right, people tip."
The question of whether Clinton had tipped the workers during the Chipotle stop was first asked by conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday.
"But I would like to know if she left anything in the tip jar, because that would be an indication that she understands the average, ordinary, everyman that she seeks to represent," Limbaugh said. "I mean, that's where the people that work at Chipotle, that's where they make a little extra, in the tip jar, and I haven't heard a word about whether or not she visited the tip jar, whether she put anything in it or not."

It's a Chipotle, who cares if she tipped? ... next thing I'll be tipping the 7/11 guy for the gum I bought. If the guy wants a tip, get out of fast food.

Tips have become synonymous with "I've done my job, now give me more money." I don't know when it happened, but it has.
A waiter, a bartender or someone you interact with throughout the night, I can see tipping. A cab driver for knowing the shortest route, even a bell hop if you choose to use one, but standing in line at a fast food restaurant and suddenly she's expected to tip because someone put a jar out there? They are not doing anything special for her or anyone else but making the product they are suppose to make.
Sometimes the expectation of a tip is silly and if a manager at Chipotle is making minimum wage, apply at an In-N-Out. To point out the fact that she didn't tip is petty.

apparently some lefties have picked up the habit of leaving little pre-printed screeds against the practice of tipping, declaring that “I do not leave tips anywhere because the law governing tipping causes pay inequality” and the practice “encourages both customers and servers to stereotype and discriminate.” Let me tell you something you don’t want to hear, anti-tip lefties:

You like your money, and you don’t like giving up any more of your money than you absolutely must to get your burrito or meal or whatever good or service you just purchased. You can dress up your selfish and tight-fisted nature in as many social justice slogans as you like, the way you dress up your burrito with fillings and toppings, but you’re not fooling anyone. You’re greedy. You want money, and you’re not willing to part with another fifteen or twenty percent of the agreed price the way everyone else does, because you don’t care enough about the guy or gal who just served you. You aren’t really that compassionate. You aren’t really that appreciative of people who work hard. None of the servers who served you see your little note and nod appreciatively at your principled stand. They swear under their breath. You’re worse than the non-tippers who you would call tightwads. Because the ordinary tightwads aren’t arrogant enough to claim that they’re doing the wait staff a favor by not leaving a tip.
UPDATE: Oh look, Hillary got in trouble in her 2000 Senate campaign for not leaving tips, too.
