There's a lot here to unpack. A few that pop out to me
- The vaccines created by China have not, at all, been effective on Omnicron. And this is not about transmission, solely, this is in regards to severe symptoms from the virus. They should be heavily investing in foreign vaccines that have been working much better and foreign companies should be involved to assist.
- People not working means production in China slows to a crawl. The world's dependence on Chinese manufacturing of electronics will lead to more inflation in that industry. Production before the pandemic was near 40%....now they're below 10%. (https://www.statista.com/statistics...n-china-compared-to-same-month-previous-year/) - supply problems in sectors with heavy Chinese supply won't let up anytime soon
- More spread.of more virus means more variants. This is not good for anyone.

Overall, the lockdown approach has been demonstrated across the world to be ineffective. China should be doing everything they can do get their population vaccinated with effective vaccines. There doesn't seem to be any urgency to do this and it seems to be a "save face" approach rather than public health focus.
