China Must Be Held Accountable

This global pandemic absolutely did not have to occur. China is responsible. China tolerated a well documented social habit that ended up causing unimaginable harm to the entire planet. I'm also hearing stories again that the virus was engineered in a lab in Wuhan. When the pandemic started, I read that they looked at the viral structure, and there was no evidence that the virus was engineered. Now, that possibility is being raised again. To me, it doesn't matter. The revolting social behavior absolutely, 100% could have and should have been stopped. If it is determined that the virus was engineered, the situation should be treated as an act of war.
What does responsibility look like? First, China will try to save face and become defensive and deny culpability. There needs to be financial restitution bravely in the form of debt forgiveness in the least. Personally, I will be as selective as I can about consuming goods and products from China. I will also make my feelings known to American companies that outsource to China.
The bottom line is that China has to pay for this.

Thread after thread after thread is dedicated to
holding Trump accountable...

China and the W.H.O. don't even
register in that calculus. He is the
calamity and xenophobe in chief.

Never gonna happen.

Same reason China can as a state segregate black people Jim Crow style and exterminate Uyger Muslims Auschwitz style and the only response from the activist left is "The USA better not upset the CCP or else. USA is the most racist ever because all the evil whiteness!! ORANGE MAN BAD!!! " .

Canada is soft on China, so you won't hear Trudeau speaking ill of them.

They already own the best condos in Vancouver and Toronto and the Oil Sands.

And Trudeau wants a Security Council seat.

Like Joe Biden, he gets easily confused
and mistakes this for the board lounge...

;) ;)

It's nice that Lit has Hall Monitors.

Query getting banhammered took a toll on the Hall Monitors Guild here on the general board. AJ's new fainting couch allows him to report more posts, but the simple fact of the matter is, Hashie's just about the only certified Hall Monitor remaining.

Hey, Sgt. Oblivious...

He was paying attention to the experts here and at the W.H.O.

;) ;)

EARHARDT: "Are we safe to fly? Many of us are going on trips. We are all going to the Super Bowl. Is that safe?"
FAUCI: "Yes, of course. And I’m glad you asked me that question. Right now the risk to Americans is really low. We are keeping an eye on this and if that changes we'll be very transparent about making the American people know. But you should not be afraid at all of getting on a plane and going to the Super Bowl. Remember, there are five travel-related cases. This is a different story. If you were telling me would I like to go to China or Wuhan or whatever I would say be careful about that. But if you want to fly to the Super Bowl, have fun. It’s not a risk."

That quote actually weakens any point you were trying to make.

PS - Sgt. Oblivious...

What you posted was an actual deflection.
I know that you don't even understand that usage of the word,
so I am endeavoring to be kind to you, since comprehension seems to be your weakness.

I will always bow to your expertise in deflection. It was actually you who deflected and then I responded directly to what you wrote.

I'll make it more succinct, did Trump claim that China did what they could to stop the virus and & cooperated in sharing the information they had?

The lawsuits against Communist China should be fun!

The Party is seeking legal guidance on "silencing" foreign litigators.

How?

China can be labelled responsible, but what are you actually going to do which damages or costs them without damaging your own interests?

It ain't easy.

I would like to make three points in response.
1. You mention that China "tolerated …. a social habit that"... harmed the planet.
It is actually worse that. I assume you are talking about the shit they eat at wet markets. Look into the history of wet markets and you will see that the starvation that was brought upon the country due to communism is what forced people to get into eating strange shit. Not that they never had that in their culture but the failure of government run farming forced people to eat that crap.

2.You said: "If it is determined the virus was engineered" … it should be treated as an act of war. It may very well have been engineered or at least isolated as an act of war. There is evidence that the virus did not start in the wet market. That could be a scape goat story to protect the government from exposure. The concept of having a bio lab in a highly populated area is evil and unethical. So, if it was not intended as a weapon you can be sure that it was being studied for that purpose.

3. Thank you for your excellent post. China is disgusting and that is why W.H.O doesn't want anyone calling this THE CHINA VIRUS. As China's whore they want to block people like you from seeing what is really going on by giving it a alpha-numeric name (COVID-19)that sends no signal of danger to the masses about China. Don't let W.H.O. control your brain or your word choice. Call it what it is to help wake people up to the danger of the government in China.
CALL IT THE CHINA VIRUS.

This is a valid concern. Sure we could put tariffs on them, but I imagine that would just hurt American companies.

What's Trump going to do, not have their products made in China?
