One of her family members invented the Delany valve.

She was some hot business, definitely.

I first saw her on Desperate Housewives, and I actually thought, "I wonder what she must have been like 20 years ago."

And now I know. The most beautiful woman on the planet, stuck in the 510th Evac Unit in Viet Nam.

But that's so peripheral to the draw of this series. I think the character that moved me the most was Samuel Beckett, in charge of the GRU (Graves Registration Unit), and how he treated "his men," the dead, as though they were still living people.

But it's not just her looks, for me, but the way she portrays McMurphy in China Beach. You just know there's something of her in that character, or she couldn't have been that convincing.
