The Chinese Government has imposed restrictions on the people who are living in Xinjiang region. Xinjiang region is located in the north-west part of China which includes Turkic Uyghur people. It is the home for 10 million people.

China has recently banned dozens of Islamic names like Saddam, Jihad, Islam, Quran, Mecca and many others. If the parents fail to pick up the right names for their new-born child, then the child will not get any educational or government benefits.

The children with the Islamic names will not be eligible for household registration which is essential. They will not have permission to avail the benefits of healthcare, social services and education. But, the complete list of names is not yet released.

I wouldn't put it past him, but, what are "Islamic names," anyway? Arabic names? Not all Arabs are Muslims, and most Muslims are not Arabs.
