Me and BlueSugar got to talking about childhood nicknames, and thought it'd be fun to find out what everyone else was called and to hear stories about that.

I had two nicknames when I was little. My mom called me 'boo', and something that's short for my real name. My family still calls me by my nickname, even though I've gone by my whole name since I was 11.

So what were your childhood nicknames?

I was Bink..or Binker. My dad later adopted Binker Bucket. I'm the baby of the family so everyone still calls me one of those variations. I don't mind though. It makes me feel loved. :)

All of my nicknames still stick :( Cricket, Crispix, but the most popular of my nicknames is Bipsy, and the many variations of Bipsy (Bipsy the squirrel, Bipsy cola, one of my friends refuses to call me anything other than "Bipsy cola the choice of the new generation" because he's a jerk with too much time.)

I got Blue from summer camp sometime around third grade ... its stuck to me like glue aparently. M adopted it, its my Sub name.
Friends have adopted it too, and many many people think its my actual last name.

My family's little name was Jacque` ... growing up, my younger siblings and cousins couldn't say my full name (Jacqueline) and only caught the adults putting the emphasis on Jacque` ... so that has stuck. The sibs and cousins are all in High School and College, and the rest of the adults adopted it too :)

Well I had a shortened form of my name which thankfully everyone but my mom has stopped calling me, and I don't have the heart to make her stop. Although my Lady calls me a weird form of it. Anyways, besides that I had 2 others really, one of my sisters started calling me "turkey" for some reason that is lost to the mists of time, and about 6th grade friends started calling me "vamp" mainly because of my canines. They're really long. I've actually had people ask me if I had them augmented to make them as big as they are. The only ones I hear now are my name and from that one sister who to this day after 20 plus years of calling "turkey", still calls me "turkey".

I only had one nickname. It was given to me my junior year by a senior I knew. If I remember correctly he gave it to me when I went to Venice Beach with him and some of his buddies. I was an extreme introvert with ectreme social anxieties. When out with people, or in crowds I would socially shut down, I'd get grumpy towards people, cry, seem depressed, so he named me Sunshine. I remember I went to pick my sis up at drama practice and he was there: "Hey, look. It's Sunshine! Notice how the room darkens as she enters!" I admired him, but was too much of a chicken to let him know.

I was tall and fat... i had a red jecket for a while...
"Big red"
like the gum.
"anne the man" (not the man in a good way, the man as in tall fat non feminine)
for halloween i was a hippy, so one kid kept calling me "hippo hippy"
i could go on, but those are some of the ones that i remember.

My father called me, "annie baby"
No one is allowed to call me that now.

ammre is my other name nearly everywhere, i'm anne, or ammre.

i had two. As a young child, EVERYONE in my family called me 'skinny-mini'. my uncle/godfather called me 'makooka', as in kooky ... aka nutty/silly/crazy/goofy etc.

My father's pet name for me was "chicken"- probably because of my skinny legs  Interestingly Master Gil's nickname for his daughter is "chooken" :)

hmmm i have a a bunch of nicknames.
In school i was peppermint patty  dunno why.
Im named after my mom so no one in my familiy really calls either of us by our real name...confusing i guess. My family calls me "tree" which isnt even close to my name, it is more like a part of my name said with a brooklyn accent. They also call me misery....because.... im one of those ppl who always "*look* miserable even when im not.
I now mostly use a shortened version of my name with my middle name included, it fits better.
Funny thing is that no matter how many nicknames i have/use, if someone calls me by my full name they have my attention immediately. Mother brainwashing i suppose. :)

Here we go:

My sisters call me Jah-nana or Nana
My older sister (exclusively) calls me Yanabanana
My father calls me Munchkin
My entire 8th grade year I was MJ (my initials) to my group of friends (and those people still call me that.)
One friend of mine will only call me Demon Seed.
A very special person, who passed away last year, used to call me Pony.
Some of my brothers' close friends always called me Redheaded Stepchild throughout my childhood and they still like to tease me with it occasionally (I can't decide if I'm more irked with or fond of the nick.)
On the internet I have been Killishandra since I was 14 and discovered chatrooms and email.
And Marquis has on occasion called me by some unusual nicks or "petnames."

When i was in 9th grade I got the nickname Zap. I had a T-shirt that had that on it. I was going to a small wesleyan school, and when i left i could not tell who was happier, them or me.

Well, my coolest brother has called me Munch forever, short for Munchkin. My evilest brother, who even our mum isn't speaking to at the moment, called me hellspawn or mum's little accident. When I was in sixth grade, at soccer camp I got tagged with Tiny T, for Tiny Terror because I was the smallest kid in the camp, smaller than even the 4th graders. But I played HARD. I still do, actually.

...My nephew couldn't say my name for awhile. Cute kid I could squeeze him death. He called me Auntie Lala... that'll stick with me for awhile thanks to my brothers. Stupid brothers. 3 older ew.

My parents when i was a kid used kiddo or booble or boob or something along those lines, munchkin...chicken limbs was a favourite...because of my skinny legs...

My one friend calls me lola no clue why...has for awhile...

An ex bf called me lawa when we wanted to be cutesy although hanging out with the other laura kinda confused so sometimes friends used my last name.

Most ppl just call my by normal name. There are only a few other nicknames I go by. Some ppl just call me cherry.

cherry

I have the 'family' name that I used when too small to say my real name. Since then (I'm the oldest of a whole bunch of cousins, the youngest is 3) there always has been some small child or three not able to say my real name, so it stuck.
Except for a very short time when nicknames where way cool and all my friends had one and I tried to have one, too (never really worked though) everybody else calles me my real name or some darling-type names (either 'Schatz' (=treasure) or 'Maus' (=mouse)) -though those are mainly used by S of course, sometimes my mom uses this type of name, too.

I was always called stig

If you've ever read "stig of the dump" you can probably guess why!

If you haven't then do, its a really great read :)

Bunny!!!! (that was kinda on purpose, though....I wore bunny ears every day for two years straight. they had a staff meeting about me at school to figure out if bunny ears counted as a hat or not. it was classified as a headband. I win) I've taken to spelling it with an "I" at the end so it's bunni because it's less common so I can use it for screen names and such. My best friend from when I was little calls me hal and my sister refers to me as bunnykins or ickle bunnykins cause she's strange and has a harry potter attachement.

My father called me cowboy not sure why that stuck untill 7th grade when I got called Doc by my best friend because Doc Holiday was my hero at the time Doc stayed with me through high school. The only other one I had was my youngest brother liked to call me Mr Spok because I always was remembering little facts no one else remembered.:)

Mine has always been babie , baby, bibi and variations on the theme ( an awful friend tried to twist it in babette after a movie of several years ago but I suddenly killed his criminal attempt ! ) . Some friends call me stella which in italian means "star " , but now almost everyone call me with my first name which has not easy possibilities to be shortened . :rose:
