Jack looked over at the redhead again as Raven broke their kiss. He checked her out and could tell she hadn't been drinking. Perhaps she was a DD for the night, which meant she might not get to have a huge random hookup like her friends are probably going to do. The down side, of course, was that she was sober so she was aware of what was going on around her.
Jack made his way to the bar and sat near her. He gave her a slight wave with his hand. He watched as she waved back. He ordered a drink and a club soda for her. He figured going the DD route and being somewhat honest would be the best chance. He also knew that she probably wasn't going to survive past the night. He waited until after she got her drink to move closer. "Hi, I'm Jack," he told her. He figured the blunt and honest apporach was going to be the best he could do. "I'm just going to be honest and say you look very lovely tonight. And seeing how you probably haven't been drinking at all tonight I'm just going to throw it out there. Today is my birthday and my girlfriend," he said as he pointed over to Raven, "is allowing me to hook up with someone. There might be the chance that she joins us, but I wouldn't mind if you didn't." By this time his hand was on her knee, gently caressing it as it slowly made it's way higher. He leaned in closer to her and whispered in her ear, "the south-side stairwell is usually empty and a good place to makeout at. That's how I met my girl," he told her. Jack hoped that she was willing to go with him, he could almost smell the desperation that she had with knowing she wouldn't be getting drunk tonight.
