I think it's great that those who submit their stories have their names attached to it, but some who read them feel the need to fine tune someones story and send feedback but don't have the balls to say who they are. I just submitted my 7th story and I can only guess because I used some slang terms that they felt the need to flame in there chicken shit anonymous feedback.

Well to you Mr or Ms No Balls, did you get the gist of the story? I would bet so. I don't write to win some stupid prize or have bragging rights so I really don't give a ratsass (spl) if you didn't like my use of a slang term or I didn't include enough periods for your taste.

And if anyone even takes the time to read this that has read any of my stories and has sent a request for me to write a part 4 in the Going on a Visit incest series, I do not plan on doing any more on that one, sorry.

Everyone has opinions, just like everyone has an asshole, and I guess some are known as anonymous

Gezzzzz

I didnt know you was post to watch how you spelt thangs on here. Gezzzz I guess I need to git me a dickionary!!

WoodMiester personally I think you write some damn good stories and I can only assume the anonymous replies are jealous or as you stated ..chicken shit. I read because I injoy the content not the grammer ..besides it's more of an interpretation and needs no one's advice...I thought feed back was more to let the writer know how much you either injoyed the story or how much you disliked ( and then again no one wants to hear that either) a story. Please you english majors ..stuff it. By hte way Woodmiester...what beat you walk honey??;)  Keep Up the Good Work!

Hi Woodmiester,

First may I say that avatar of yours is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen... I like it!

Bad feedback? Well, what can I say? Welcome to the club. I don't think there's an author here who hasn't had bad feedback at some time. And if there is I want to shake their... mm... hand? Oh damn it I can't stop staring at that pic now.

Seriously though, don't take it too seriously. People give negative feedback for all kind of reasons. If it's hasn't got a name attached, it's really not worth the paper it's not written on.

I wish you well with your future writing.

Have a great day,

Alex(fem)

Thanks for the comments barberbabe, glad you enjoyed them and saw the content of my intentions

And your very right Alex, I didn't take them to heart but since whoever they were didn't have the nads to let me know who they were so this was a way to let whoever it was know my thoughts and damn but I didn't hide behind a thing either.

And I'm glad you find my av so revolting ;)

I'm not "Mr or Ms No Balls" but I can definitely see why he or she gave you negative feedback. Your grammar is atrocious and the story itself is nowhere near good enough to make up for it. Good for you that I never vote on anything I would rank at less than a three.

You complain about anonymous feedback, but the truth is that it's put there to protect members from people like you. You seem like exactly the kind of fella who would give the person who critiqued you the all-feared "1" vote as many times as possible, all as an immature act of revenge. Look at you, starting a thread called "Chicken Shit Anonymous Feedback" because you can't stand a negative comment. Would you like some cheese with that whine? And don't tell me you're actually complaining about the fact that it's anonymous, because I've never seen you complain about positive anonymous feedback.

Not only that, but from the sound of things, the criticism he or she gave was constructive and the person even tried to help you with your grammar. You should be learning from your mistakes and making yourself into a better writer, instead of this. If you can't take someone saying something bad about and to you via person-to-person e-mail, you really shouldn't be posting any stories for strangers to read in the first place. Go take your writings to mommy so she can tell you how good a little boy you are and kiss your boo-boos.

Oh, and you think it's great that people who submit their stories attach their names to it? Tell me something, who named you Woodmiester; you or your parents?

Funny how the ones who complain about "english majors" are the ones who don't know a thing about English grammar.

It's just like a pre-schooler with a coloring book, using the wrong colors and coloring outside the lines. I'm not saying you have to be perfect, but don't give me a run-on sentence that lasts six lines and expect to make the top 10 (or 100 for that matter).

I don't mind anonymous feedback on my stories...it's generally good and I'm thankful that people took the time just to write anything to me.
That being said, there is the occasional stupid comment made that CAN be considered "chickenshit".
For example:
"Stop writing, your stories suck!"
would be considered both negative AND chickenshit. I have received two or three of those in the past year or so.

I don't mind negative criticism...in fact, I've had a couple of really helpful ones. But when it is constructive criticism like that, they always leave their names and it's always nice "meeting" them so to speak.

Anonymous feedback bothers me only in that I can't respond to the person and find out more about what they thought or why.

Both my best and worst feedback have been anonymous. People I would love to open dialogues with. I'd like to see how I can further their needs as well as what I can learn from them. In some cases, I'd just like to see what on Earth they were thinking (such as with some of the racial commentary I get from time to time).

That said, on ASSTR I disabled the ability for people to send me feedback without a valid email and the amount of feedback I got fell through the floor...

So if as a writer you really want to get it, you have to put up with how they send it.

Some people simply don't feel comfortable using the email addresses they have in a response to erotica or porn.

I'll check that out about the disabling feature. While I also don't have a problem with positive feedback it's comments of the like that Guilty As Charged said himself, or herself .... more or less what I feel is a troll using a recent name that has so little of a life they must make silly comments to wards other to what, make themself feel as if they have something when it's so apparent they have nothing.
My stories were all done at the request of others and they, that one single person enjoyed them, I submitted them here in case someone else would also.
The bottom line as I see it is I'm not going for a book deal nor some silly votes for bragging rights, and posting this as I said was the only way to attempt to get my thoughts across to whomever didn't have the self respect to let me know who they were to begin with. Who knows, if they would have been an adult about it a open discussin could have been started.
Guilty As Charged you seem to have lost track that this isn't a professinal site as far as stories, photos or anything else. I hope you find whatever you're seeking but if it's to wait in the background just to use your words to inflict vile statements, get a life, and thanks for reading my story, yippy, another reader

Waaaaaa ! :( You hurt my feelings ! Get Stuffed !:p

Hmm...

I would say that you're free to discount any opinion that doesn't suit you. If it's rude, unfounded, or simply wrong in your opinion, you don't have to bother with it. Seeing as it's attacking a story you wrote, your 'baby', if you will, I can understand your anger. Still, the person supplying the feedback almost certainly doesn't know you, so it can't be personal. Don't take as personal, either, then.

My $0.02. YMMV.

Oh, and tenyari, I love your avatar!

The content of the feedback in itself wasn't the point I was making, to be honest except for the person I wrote the story for, I really don't care if anyone else liked it or not and I don't need positive feedback to make me feel good. If someone else did like it that's great but it really doesn't matter. The whole point which I was getting at is the anonymous part of it. If someone wants to trash someone the least they can do is be adult enought about it to let the other know who they are so if that person cares enough a possible discussion can be made.
Thanks for your .02 worth

We ALL get anonymous feedback......

Some of the anonymous feedback I've gotten has been good. And the only thing I regret about that is being able to say "thank you" to whoever took the time to write me.

When I have gotten negative........VERY negative feedback anonymously, then I take it with a grain of salt, especially if it's directed more towards me than at the story. Some people hate the way I write. Other's enjoy it. I think that's the whole point of posting stories here, let the readers decide who they like reading.

For those of you who've read and enjoyed my stories, and still written back to me anonymously....I can only say thank you. For those who hate the way I write, or what I write, I can only say don't read my stuff then. Not everything I write appeals to everyone's taste......but gee, isn't that sort of the whole idea here?

But keep in mind.......feedback is exactly that. Feedback. Just weed out the "obvious" malicious ones and go on. For those who constructively critisize, whether they've done so anonymously or not......then take what you learn that is honestly given from that, and apply it to your writing in an effort to emprove and enhance your readership. Consequently, the feedback increases, and the number of anonymous feedbacks will diminish. Pretty soon you've got a great group of people willing to email you a word of advise, or a comment of praise, or simply to say hello.

Feedback's great.........anonymously or otherwise.

Just depends on what you do with it.

I remain,

LOL..........case in point.

I JUST received this anonymous feedback email:

This message contains feedback for: Thesandman
About the submission: The Ya Ya Dildohood Ch. 3
This feedback was sent by: Anonymous

Comments:

Hey Sandman! I love this series you have going here. I have read a couple of your other stories now too, and find that they are great too!

*DO NOT hit the REPLY button to respond to this email.*

So see? Sometimes Anonymous feedback is good too. Just wish I could say THANK YOU to whoever sent it to me. <Sigh>

I remain,

Oh, sweetie

I tell you I have gotten some of the worst feedback! It does blow for sure because I would like to know who it was who didn't like my stuff. Before jumping me, I want to say that I have learned to take it with a grain of salt.
I take it personally for a few days and then I bounce back. If someone would be willing to leave an addy where I can pick his or her mind, that would be great. But some folks won't. I feel sorry about that since they are the ones who usually give me the best ideas of what peeved them.
It's easy to give great criticism but it's hard to give baddies. Maybe that person doesn't want you to get angry. I have had a friend give me a bad vote and then tell me a few days later why...that did piss me mad, but sometimes it's the only way.
So, keep it in mind, make a note of it by your PC and forget it. If it bothers you, fuck it and use it as a catalyst for a better story. If it helps you it's done the job.\
But also keep in mind that this person could just want to screw with someone and you happened to be that one. KillerMuffin gave me that advice. I try to keep it in mind when I get a message that really hurts. Then I can brush it off.
Hopefully you will be able to write to your heart's content. I liked your stuff, by the way. So what if you have bad grammar and run on sentences! It's the story that counts. Besides, if someone hates bad grammar that badly, then I don't see why he or she even bothers to read it!
Keep going, shug. You can always improve:kiss:

I have gotten feed back and I know who it comes from. Not because they give their names. Of course if they are really wanting to help you constructively they will tell you. . BUT
i use Yahoo mail and when the Feed Back is sent to me at that mailing addy at the top of it is the persons e-mail addy that sent the message.

And BTW _Bragis I appreciated the input for my story Love On A Train I am currently working on that.

My Works on Literotica

Woodmiester, I do agree with you on the anonymous part, if they were just spewing meaningless crap. But, was the information you received constructive, at all? Also, do you think the person who sent it would still have sent it, if they had to include an email? Some won't send feedback at all, if they can't be anonymous.
If Mr./Ms. Anon was just bitching, I'd forget about it. Anonymous could be the whole of his/her personality, too.

I don't get much feedback, as a rule, good or bad. I do get some from a few of my (semi)devoted readers, but that is it. Actually, I would like to get some more feedback or votes or something, from the thousands that the Lit system says looked at my stories and didn't say anything.

One person's anonymous trash is another person's wanted input, I guess.

OK, now watch. I will get several anonymous feedbacks telling me not to give up my day job. LOL. Oh well, such is life.

Yeah, I too got my ass handed to me by an ANONYMOUS reader but I don't care. I'll improve what I can and if I like to keep something in, I will. I mean, I have to enjoy writing the stories as much as you guys like reading them.
