My husband's doing a bit of poultry butchering this evening. So far, I have a sink full of chicken feet and a trip to the hospital in the very near future. He thinks he managed to break his finger in the process.

Um. Oops. :( Hope he's okay.

It's not broken, but there could be a bit of tendon damage. A splint and a recommendation for ibuprofen for the next couple of days until he can see a hand specialist.

Were it not potentially painful or injurious, it could be considered funny.
Best of luck.

My father once dropped a frozen turkey on his foot and broke his toe. Obviously poultry is dangerous.

The nurse filling out the intake papers did pause for a bit, but commiserated with us and said her grandfather had sprained his wrist doing the same thing. We could also hear a bit of tittering in the halls and one of the nurses stopped by to ask if chicken and dumplings would be on the menu for this evening.

In a few months he'll get the opportunity exact bloody vengeance on turkeydom...

It was the night before Thanksgiving, 1983. We've gotten our revenge over and over since then.

And you know what they say, "revenge is a dish best served with cranberry sauce." ;)

How was dinner?;)
