CHICAGO - Crunch Time!

Those that can't attend want regular reports from those that do :)

A list of all who make it there would be nice too :D

Thanks in advance :D

URGENT TRAVEL UPDATE

For those flying into Chicago for the Lit-together, please be aware that the FAA grounded the American fleet of M80 aircraft today, which are used for many, many domestic flights. All Wednesday flights on those aircraft have been cancelled.

It might be a good idea to double check what type of aircraft your flight was on and start looking at contigency options. The airlines aren't cancelling Thursday or Friday flights yet -- but the odds of them getting enough planes checked and approved to get back in the air is probably a lot slimmer than they are publically stating.

Good luck and look forward to seeing you in Chicago :D

Good to hear Rob :D

Only reason I became aware of it was Wenchie was flying home from Houston today ... and she was originally on an M80, so her flight was cancelled.

Some people have all the luck though ... she found a flight on a different airline, had her ticket transferred, ended up in first class (seat 1A) and gets an almost $200 refund as the first class seat is cheaper than the coach one she had. And she only gets home about 2 1/2 hours later than scheduled

I hate packing...never know what to bring
Clothes, money,on line receipt of airline seat purchases, books to read, my pipes, tobacco and pipe cleaners. Almost said lighter but it will be confiscated.

Just bought condoms.

Oh, and 'equipment'. ;)

That's my list.

I think they allow lighters now...I'm bringing a Bic in case they do

I'm crossing an international border. I gather even nail clippers aren't allowed. They confiscated my lighter last year.

Ahhhh gotcha. But Canadians are our friends! -grins...has partied on a Canadian destroyer visiting Norfolk before- Love that their ships are still "wet"
