Does anyone remember this adult comic book by Larry Welz? It ran from the 70s to the mid 90s on a sporadic release schedule. The series seems to be on indefinite hiatus at this point, and I'm not sure if there's a possibility it will continue or if it's really finished.
I own all 22 issues plus an autographed, numbered hardback collection. I've always been fascinated by the character of Cherry Poptart. Her personality was entirely rooted in fun, casual consequence-free fucking with as many pairings/partners as possible, and her stories were usually framed around tongue-in-cheek satire.
She'd be getting fucked by a science teacher who rattled off complicated lectures while he pounded her, and then she would be in the jungle with a Rambo knockoff or with Darth Vader while he did her with his lightsaber. She paired up with her mom on more than one occasion; there was even a story arc where Cherry went back in time to get her mom laid and introduced her to sex through sapphic bliss. Cherry was 18 years old and to paraphrase Welz, "She will always have just turned 18." The comics were genuinely erotic but also funny as hell. I could get off on them while laughing.
Thing is, I've been trying to come up with a Cherry-like character for Lit ever since I started submitting to the site. I have always failed. There's something about that sexually liberated, bubbly DTF 24/7 attitude that Cherry had that I've wanted to reproduce, but it never quite clicked. I'm still trying to make it happen.
