Cheap Airline Tickets

If ya find a link riff let me know too.....I am looking also..lol plzzz plzzzzz ;)

The obvious ones...

www.orbitz.com

I like Southwest Airlines so try their site. (Do your own search). They do not cover all major cities but if it is workable their rates are often cheap and they are hassle free, from my expereince.

I am assuming you have poked around with travelocity and the other major travel sites. They tend to mildly discounted but nothing stellar.

...and if you find a good online resource, let me know as I will be looking for fares in the near future.

If you check the site for Delta Airlines, they have some there. Those deals will not be included if you call, they are only provided for those who shop online.

I know I tried Orbitz and they weren't too good of a price :S

Patience, Riff. It'll happen. I'll look too - but I'm off out to leave the Lada in for its new gear box - original quote was £1,400.

Found a brand new one for £310 - shipped it here for £50 and it's all set to go in next week.

I fly to Scotland on Monday for 3 euros - from Paris.

I found Houston- london for $530 or so.

So fly to London and drive to France in the Chunnel?

All right, I'll be back. Gotta go-go do some computer stuff outside my nest.

I need a destination. London? But, free, I already been there!

Edited to add: ya know, it may be cocky for me to say, but London seemed like it was the 51st state. LOL

I've no intention of staying in London, Riff. It just to get you across the Atlantic, so we can do Europe.

You come off the plane straight into my in-laws to sleep off the jet lag then we're off. Cross the channel for Olleron.

I though London would be the cheapest - but Amsterdam or Rome would be good too - or Madrid. I'm mobile.

You can receive an educator's discount, you know. That may save you buckets of loot. Call Orbitz, or whomever, and be sure to ask about the teacher's rate.

BTW, thanks for bringing the kitty back; it is just about the cutest one I've ever seen.

Hey Riff.....

I just did a quick search on HotWire for NYC to London, middle of June to the Middle of July.....fares of $745 round trip up to $1100.

Make sure you search different city pairs. Sometimes you can save a lot by going to someplace like Amsterdam from Boston because KLM is trying to fill weak flights. Just an example.

Check close to your departure date, airlines track their flight reservations up to a year ahead and if something is not performing prices will drop on one or more flights to take pressure off flights that are getting full too early.

Rhumb:cool:

riff, another way to save money is to fly out of the smaller airports, not the major ones in the city. Not sure what is around you, but when I lived in Philly, I never flew out of Philly airport, always went to Newark, New Jersey, usually saved me a couple of hundred dollars. Althought the catch is that not all go directly to Europe, you may have to stop over in Boston or New York. But hey, if it saves you big bucks, why not?

(And if you fly through Boston, you better let me know! :) )

I've found good rates with expedia.

Also consider flying in to Brussels or Amsterdam. Sometimes there is a substantial price difference.

You're going to do Europe? That's cool. So when can I expect a visit?

cheaptickets and hotwire are really good on airfair, but be ready to do a plane change or 2 .
