So two days ago I ran this prompt:
Pretty, late 20's old, with expressive eyes, brunette and slim. She is not a woman you would instantly think wow, but a woman that you would think she deserves a 2nd look. She is sitting in skimpy bra and briefs with her back to the viewer, but her head turned looking over he shoulder with slightly tousled hair. Shes sitting on a rumpled bed.

I used the word girl instaed of woman and got a beautiful image which I stupidly didn't save thinking it would be fine over night if I didn't close the chat. And of course it vanished over night and when I ran the prompt again I got...:

We’re so sorry, but the image we created may violate our guardrails around nudity, sexuality, or erotic content. If you think we got it wrong, please retry or edit your prompt.

Today as an experiment I ran the prompt with woman instead of girl and got the same, We're sorry.... so it was not the prompt as such but something changed in the AI over that night, and the AI can shed no light.

My guess is that ChatGPT busted you using its AI for erotica, which is possibly against its terms of service, and the system remembered your ID. The AI won't know, but the site you used might.

Keep in mind that use of AI is contrary to Lit's policy, which includes book covers.

I tried sending you a DM, but for some reason I'm not able to.

Seems like the message it gave you has all you need to know -- it has guardrails around sexual content. I imagine the fact that your prompt snuck by the guardrails the first time was the anomaly.

If you're not able create your own content then you don't have much choice but to work within the strictures of whatever you're hoping will create it for you. I'm sure there are other platforms.

Try Lexica, NeuralBlender, or one of the dozens of other sites for AI images. Just don't use what they create for any covers on this site.

Individual stories don't. Series do.

On a related point, I have used a company called "getcovers dot com" to do the covers for my two most recent books on Amazon. For $35, the results are pretty darn good. Original creations with no AI involved, at least so far in my two cases.

Change "skimpy bra and briefs" to "her underwear". Sometimes being less specific with ChatGPT works.

Yes. It gets persnickety sometimes.

I said nothing about Lit, this is a book I am creating, and in the course of creating the cover one day a lady in bra and pants sitting with her back to the viewer was created with almost no fuss and the next day it was a complete no. I am wondering if the rules changed over night, that is the Q.
I think @crookedletter is correct- ChatGPT is probably currently programmed to treat all pictures of women in their underwear as sexual content, and that it allowed yours that one time because AI can’t be trusted to do anything right with complete consistency.

LLMs and image generators include a random element. Even if you had been able to rerun the prompt without censorship, on the exact same version of the AI, you wouldn't have received the exact same image.

If you include a prompt that's near the borderline of what content they permit, the random element means that sometimes it'll produce an image that gets blocked and sometimes it won't.

People are keen to read patterns into things but sometimes there's no explanation beyond "it's partly random".

They are also changing.
