Is there a faq or something that explains how to use the chat here at lit, or are you just supposed to learn be trial and error. Tried it last week but couldn't really figure it out.......what can i say i'm kinda new to the computer age.

Which chat? There are two chat areas here at Lit:

The first doesn't have any FAQ page that I know of, and I've never been to the second. I don't know of any FAQ page for the second either.
