OK, I did a search and read some threads and even tried to follow some suggested leads, but still can't seem to get this going. Does anyone have a specific software and a specific website running this way? Any futher suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated.

What sort of web cam are you using? What program are you running it on? What chat service are you using?

These answers could be helpful when someone who knows what they're doing comes along...

:D ;)

Thanks for getting me headed in the right direction.

Have Logitech cam with Logitech software that I was using to make stills and clips to send as files.

Using MSN Messenger normally, but, after Lit search, signed up at webvoyeur.com, thereby inhereting their "CameraWare" software in the process. Can't seem to get that going properly and help is no help. I can just keep banging my head against the wall and might figure it out eventually.

MSN could be your problem, I've never had my camera work with MSN. I'm using Logitech btw.

Have you tried Yahoo, or Net Meeting? I know Yahoo has a great set up guide, I used it when I first started.

I don't know what the deal is with Voyeurweb though.

Ok, anywhoo... This is probably considered a *Bump* *Shake* *Wiggle*

Thought this webvoyeur or voyeurweb was the solution to MSN, but maybe I'll try on Yahoo.

Thanks for the bump, and the shake and wiggle.

I use NetMeeting most of the time, and I would think if your computer is recognizing your computer and taking pictures, that the video conferencing software wouldn't have any trouble finding and recognizing it.

I had a lot of trouble with voice chats and webcam stuff right after I installed a firewall (ZoneAlarm, in my case). If you have the security settings too high, it regards voice and video communication as a breach -- or at least mine did. If you're using a firewall, you might want to try turning it off or playing with the security levels, settings and so forth.

I do have a firewall going and, judging by the frequent security alerts that pop up, I assume it's set pretty high. I'll work on that too. Thanks.

Netmeeting is usually on everybody's computer. Do a search and you should be able to find it , at least if you are using Microsoft software. It is very easy to use.

Thanks. Found Netmeeting. Has to be someone with same on other end right, not one of the webcam chat sites?

Yeah I think that the recieving end has to be using netmeeting also, i am not sure. But Weathered is right, Yahoo IM is good too...
