Chat Users vs BB Users...

I live in Ky. and I've never heard of calling your grandparents grammer, but hell what do I know. I'm just a
housewife that likes to chat with her friends.

Um..Ky eh?

I was going to make a smartass remark about family trees in KY and other So. states looking more like light posts...

But I think I'll pass...;)

I pretty much use the same style of writing here as in chat. Obviously, if I want to keep up with the conversation while chatting I can't help but start to use acronyms, otherwise I'd be way behind what everyone else was saying, and they are a convenient way to express yourself (once you find out what on earth they all mean!). Having said that, I often am way behind anyway!
Ambrosius, thought your example of a chat scenario was in some ways accurate - but it was so out of context. For a start it was words fixed on a page in the BB, and it doesn't get much more out of context than that [try posting the way you would here in the chat room, it just won't work!]. That sounds too glib I know [and so will this], but when the Lit. Lounge is full of friends and we're all having a laugh at / with one another, well times like that could never be captured on a BB, even if you typed it word for word. The point you make about being able to distinguish between 'chatters' versus 'BBers' is probably true for the most part. Any observations beyond that are increasingly suspect and open to question.

I never change. I am the same in Chat or on the Board. I am constant. I am the reason the earth revolves and the sun rises every day. Your welcome.

I have just realised one major advantage of the Bulletin Board over chat. On the chat line I frequent (excite Virtual Places), lots of people have bad bad software which can boot you. There you are, launching into your philosophy on crinkle cut chip multinationalism and fascism when pow!!! booted from the chat line. Here on Lit. you get to finish what you are saying without being technologically crippled by an intellectual lightweight who can't respond with words. Much much easier on the hard drive. LOL.

They do what?

Does that go for Lit. Chat too? I haven't been booted by 'intellectual lightweights' as far as I am aware (from Lit Chat), and my opinions on crinkle cut chip multinationalism are well known! Didn't know people could do that, which shows my technological naivete. Having said that I'd rather be technologically naive than just naive, it sounds superior and advanced don't you think?

It doesn't happen much on java chat lines like Literotica. Virtual Places is a visual chat line. Everyone has avatars and you can send and receive files directly via the chat program. This makes it fun but also makes you vulnerable to pesky boot software. The whole chat program has developed into its own little communities with Klans (armies of computer geeks who spend all day at work playing on the net) who keep developing bad software programs to fight their wars against each other. Unfortunately, the civilians get hold of these programs and use them when they don't like your politics. Or your avatar. Or your username. Or they've just had a really bad bloody day and you happen to be there. LOL.

I see ...

Thanks for the clarification CRaZy. I've visited those 'virtual' chat places, didn't think much of them. I thought I kept getting disconnected because my puter is too slow. Maybe it was something else?

LOL

Oh yea! More than likely. The newbies cop it big time. Idiots like me who persist with the program clutter up their computer with anti-boot software to prevent being disconnected. The secret is to know which klan has the best anti-boot software at the time then d/l it whilst saying a mantra which will prevent it being bugged with trojons. LOL.

Uh ... my startegy involved not going back and staying away. I must confess that yours sounds more fun. Is it really like that 'out there' ... ? It all sounds so un-real. Mind you I would say that as my puter is basically a TV / phone / typewriter hybrid which I use to lumber around the Internet with.

Just let me know the time and place, Daddio. But first thing: I need to know if we're going to be properly tooled up or just doing a few contemporary dance moves like the Jets and the Sharks.

"tooled up" ???

I thought 'cock fighting' was illegal, or am I confusing this thread with the "Oh my God" thread?

Haha. I'd suggest some guid auld Scottish Highland Games like Tossing The Caber but you might misconstrue that too.

no doubt I would ...

... a double entendre needs but a single brain cell, and I've got one of those ...

I hear you!

Mind you, Shylady has been borrowing it a bit too much lately!

WOODCHUCK!

lol Ally at least over there they know we are insane already
see you there soon.

I do both, under the same name, and with the same grammer.
I started out chatting, but don't really find cyber sex fulfilling or even erotic, but I do like the humorous banter and try to stir things up every so often. I have also gotten myself in hot water a few times, but have survived.

I find the BB much more thought provoking, and being able to fully express yourself, makes it a more complete vehicle.

Hi Ksss, Willy,....hugs and kisses, sort them out and use them wisely.

Vi

Size doesn't matter....unless your having sex.

OMG ROFLMAO this one is funny. For the most part BB'ers use better spelling and puncuation.

Vi is perfect no matter what she does.

Ksss types way better here than she does in e-mails to me:)

Willy is probably one of the true gentlemen of Lit Chat.

Ally's sense of humor (humour) is British but still hysterical. Nice shoes btw, Ally.

The biggest difference is the thought that goes on here vs the Chatroom. You seldom get the "ANYBODY WANNA FUCK?????" here.

There appear to be lots fewer morons on here.

*OSJ*=oh sweet jesus
olb=oh lordy be
lmao=laughing my ass off
get the door=someone is getting booted
SPLAT=we pulled the bus up the wrong way and the bootee hurt his self.
DIIK=damned if I know
How can we miss you if you won't go away? self explanatory.

Thanks Loco. You have a way with words too; and yes, I am hysterical ... very.

Ally now that you have my panties do you still respect me?
