Chat Peeves

I have recently posted a personal ad on lit and have received numerous pms and invitations for chat. Being a friendly person and thinking that its the polite thing to do, I've chatted with almost everyone who sent me an invite. However, as I go through the whole experience, I've realized that chatting, like everything, has all to do with timing and chemistry.

As I chatted with more and more people, I have developed a list of things that a chatter can do that will make me want to terminate the conversation immediately or at least just let it die a horrible death..

My number one pet peeve is a chatter who just start talking about his own personal experience or fantasy, typing line after line non-stop, without waiting if you want to say something or contribute a line, and then after 10-to 12 lines down, asked if you are still there...

I would like to invite others to share their own chat pet peeves and maybe we can educate each other on how to be better, exciting chatters...

I hate to be questioned to death. It's more like getting interrogated rather than getting to know one another. Getting to know someone takes time. That is about my only "chat peeve".

Or someone who does the opposite. Who only answer questions and never volunteer their own queries...

LOL....i'm not talking about discussion board etiquette...so my 27 posts is irrelevant...but you are right..i did sound like i'm whining...hey..a girl has to find a place to vent...

pet peeves??i have a few of my own!!

normally i don t take issue with posts here whether they involve me, but in an envornment like this where men out number women by what seems like 1000 to 1, a guy has to try atleast a little harder than the responses you described, and try typing two handed until after the introductions!!!!

I'll tell you without hesitation, that i'm not at all like you described, i sent you a PM on 5/22, @ 1:59 PM, and still no response.

That said, ....lemme say this: nothing ventured, nothing gained!!!
