A pleasant evening on PBS last night, with Charlie Rose, followed by Legends of Jazz, with Ramsey Lewis the MC, guests, Jane Mondheim, vocalist and a guitarist whose name I did not write down, excellent performances.

Huffington is a political analyst and blogger, Wilson is the ‘outted’ CIA covert operator of recent notoriety.

Both are females, both are Liberals, as is Charlie Rose, but in watching and listening, closely, I might add, I learned something very illusive to communicate.

I enjoy the Charlie Rose series and have for many years, for several reasons, one of which is his wide and varied interests and selection of guests, another because Charlie always does his preparation and background research and does an excellent job of getting the guest to open up and talk.

Huffington and Plame are two of the most erudite and intellectual females I have ever listened to, regardless of their political leanings.

These were separate interviews, one after the other, so Charlie wasn’t overwhelmed as he might have been were both women together, but he was pressed to keep up with the rapid delivery of precise and cutting language offered by both of these women.

Previously my exposure to both these women was in thumbnail or sound bite status and I was not overly impressed by what I heard. With the lengthy interview conducted by Charlie Rose, one can begin to sense the depth and historical and intellectual background these women presented.

Quite amazing actually and very, very impressive.

On a level with William F. Buckley in his prime; although of opposite political persuasion, their demeanor was a new experience to me.

No other women that I have observed, including Ann Coulter or Hillary Clinton, could hold a candle to these two ladies as they displayed a tremendous ability to explore and persuasively discuss the ideas of left wing, anti Bush, anti republican, anti free market litany of the left.

Truly impressive and virtually without equal in my experience.

Perhaps someone watched the Broadcast?
