Changing The Title And/Or Category

Hey all!

I'm just seeing if I got this right. If I'm looking to change the title of one of my stories, do I put the new title with the old title in parentheses? Like so:

Throes Of Desire (was "Flow Of Desire")

Obviously, I know to put in the fact that I'm changing the title in the NOTES section, as well as my desire to change the category.

I would PM (not e-mail) Laurel and tell her what you'd like to do. That would be much faster. Oh, and be nice. She does a great job running this place.

If you want to change the title, you could just file an edit (instructions are in the FAQ section) and put the reason for the change in the notes section. If you want to change categories, it's probably best to PM Laurel--because she controls what category it goes it and may not put it in the one the author chooses.

Thanks for your help . I WAS able to get both the title and the category altered, and I obsequiously put the reasons for both. The story in question was originally called "Serena", and, because of the length that MS Works had said it was (upwards of 24 pages), I had it put in Novels & Novellas.

However, when I saw how many Lit pages it took up (only 3), I decided it really belonged in Erotic Horror, even though it's admittedly more Horror than Erotic. As far as the title, since all the other stories in my series, which I just ended, have lines from songs as their titles, I felt that "Misled By Beauty" was more fitting. The title comes from a song called "A Touch of Blessing" from the band Evergrey (check them out!), and it, like my story, deals with a cult.

Glad things worked out for you. Just one suggestion: Count words, not pages. Words are pretty much the standard measuring tool. Pages vary too much depending on margins, fonts, and font size.
